Questionable ethics from first person view?

Think of it what you will, I personally disagree with what happened here. The mob claim system does need some revamping so things like this don't happen.

Granted the picture makes Cremonte look like a total ***. You have to think honestly if you would do that yourself? I know I would, as well as many many others. It's just the way things go. I wouldnt take a picture if I did it, and I definately wouldnt post it on the internet, but to each his own.

Even more fun in Behemoth's Dominion today. Behemoth was being marathoned for at least 5 minutes by MM until somebody else somehow got the claim without the mob ever going yellow. At least I never saw it go yellow. Kinda hard to tell with 40 people chasing after it.

Percie, I can honestly say, no I wouldn't do that myself. If a mob is claimed, I don't sit there and constantly try to cast on it while spamming says to annoy the people fighting it. Even if they lose claim, I don't try to grab it from them. And it has happened before on nms I've camped.

Regardless, doing it with a aprty of 4 isn't very smart. Last I checked, Lord of Onzozo is a HNM and requires a hell of a lot more people to kill than just 4. What were they thinking!? >.<

The temptation is there I understand since a lot of HNM tend to get kited at some point and can go unclaimed but taking it when the claiming group had it and was having no problems is unneeded. I wish people had more common courteousy for other groups when it came to stuff like this regardless of whether it's stealing claim or showing up at the very last minute to camp a nm and taking it from someone by using unneeded methods like making trains on purpose to ***** up the chance of claim >_>. I've had that happen multiple times on a specific NM I'm trying to hunt so I can use the gear while the people that usually pull this crap I see selling the item on ah >_>.

Stealing claim = bad. Common courteousy = good. But this is online and a game so the chance that everyone suddenly becomes upstanding ffxi citizens is somewhere between a snowball's chance in hell and the pope lighting a bible on fire.

Elfvin is in one of those LS that end up on 2ch all the time. Also one that is known for stealing. So that doesn't come up as shockin in the least. Other people steal all the time, it's not right but it's not something that will stop.

Kiyashi, that's called trio not duo. Learn to count.

I feel like a rank n00b because my reaction, upon viewing the OP's linked SS, is "But, but, but, it's impossible for someone else to claim your already-claimed mob! Everyone knows that!"

I'd never encountered this. Obviously is this stuff actually occurs, SE needs to fix that exploit.

Actually, it does happen. What happens is:

1: The main tank is "Kite'n" the mob around while the other members pick away at it.
2: The mob might have "Gravity" on it.
3: Tank runs a little too far and loses hold on mob.
4: The "Thief's" are spamming voke at it.
5: Tank is too far, loses hold on mob, and bam! For a split second mob is yellow and gets voked by someone else.
6: Mob is lost to another party. (>.<)

Could be FATE I think. Note: I'm not directly blaming all of FATE, I'm just supposing that those members are in FATE.

No, because it's retarded. How would you like if you're fighting Fafnir for 20 minutes and it just happens to go yellow and someone else claims it?

It happens very rarely at an event like Fafnir (happens more for kited mobs), but it's still incredibly dumb and idiotic.

The even better part is that usually when this happens, hate is still on the alliance/PT that was originally fighting it, so they will pretty much get MPK'd by this action (since them curing themselves will only result in them getting even MORE hate) while you (if you steal) will end up with a free ride. Way to go.

Can you imagine if this sort of nonsense becomes rampant? Hell, even Kirin turns yellow for us. What's next? People stealing Kirin when he's almost dead?

I'm not going to turn this into a witch-hunt nor am I going to blame you for having your own opinion. But I will state my opinion and this kind of activity is extremely extremely moronic.

When there are obvious issues with game mechanics, the proper thing to do is have the community rally and have unspoken 'rules' between players so there isn't unnecessary griefing and general chaos. We have to abide by those player-made rules or it will literally become complete free-for-all and trust me, that's not fun at all.

I fail to see what will come of me defending myself, but I guess there's not much else I can do to fend off the people who feel it their God-given right to message me in game when they had nothing to do it, harassing me on my lack of etiquette, spreading gossip and stretching the truth more than is ******* feasible off of the internet.

Yea, I was wrong spamming Flash on it. I can say the same for the people I was with, too. Though it doesn't make it right, I say to people saying I should have been "banned on the spot", that people like me don't "deserve to live" and things more or less farfetched, if a mob goes yellow twice that drops a, what is it now, 20 mil? item, would you try to claim it?

Of course, this being the internet with people wholely righteous, following only what is good! and never doing wrong, many will say no. Whatever, no stopping you. You're perfect people and would gladly give 20mil to someone else. Would love to see some of you in that situation though.

Regardless though, yeah my group stole it. Yes it's wrong, and being that I can't speak for the people I was with, I can say only for myself that I regret it. Can you people get off my ******* *** though? Now I MPK everyone I come across paths with that I dislike, now I hack accounts of people in other LS' to spy and steal information, now I bot NMs and flood people with packets so they lag out and I can steal claim.

I love personal attacks, I really do.

Being villianized for stealing claim I can understand, being singled out for saying "LOL" quite a few times, I can sort of understand too. Having people telling me not to MPK because I stole LoO from Zenmetsu... okay now that I don't get.

Oh, and again even though this doesn't make me any less of a ****, of a jackass for taking someone elses mob, a trio (NIN/DRK/RDM) stole it from us about 5 seconds after we got claim, got it down to low HP, then had it go through another unclaim fiasco only to have Zen reclaim it.

What can I say. I'm sorry. Get the **** off my ***, please.

credibility = 0 *copy and paste to KI*

Asherek, you seem quite offended by the whole topic. Next time you log on to the game, ask TShoT if they lost the pull on a mob, yet for one reason or another it goes yellow and they have a chance to claim it, if they would. I assure you there is more people than you think that would do it. If it goes yellow, there must be a reason it goes yellow, its part of the game mechanics, not some random glitch (because obviously this has happened more than once). I'm in Lemonade now, and if we somehow (probably would require some kind of divine intervention) gained claim on Fafnir, and we let it slip to yellow, and lost claim on it, my personal opinion would be "oh well thats just how it goes". At this point it should just be understood, not neccessarily accepted but, that's just how the game works sometimes, and you'll win some and you'll lose some.

I'm not saying that I agree that this should be part of the game, infact I think that it should be fixed so that if you win pull the monster is yours untill you kill it, or it kills you (or zone away). Im simply saying that it is part of the game, and we've just got to deal with it and base our play around the knowledge of this.

Side note: I haven't rated down anyone with a different opinion than I have, I ask the same courtesy in return.

I had this whole epic, post for you Crem. But like, I've been talking to you on AIM, and I'm having so much fun and stuff.
Anywho, don't let these KI fools get you down. The fact that you claimed it was a fluke/accident/mistake. Hell you weren't the only one. Everyone needs to just move one. The initial linkshell got it back, so what's the big deal? People need to learn the facts before judging, as if it were any of our places to judge. GM's do that kinda stuff. DON'T BE A GM! Unless you are one.. ^^b

I have no doubt in my mind there would be people who would be willing to do it. Every person has their own opinion. That's fine.

However, LS rule is NOT to do it and as far as the rule is for those, we won't bow down to it. I can't speak for everyone, but we abide by this rule unanimously simply because as I said a "free-for-all" is simply not fun at all.

What's next? Griefing tactics at HNM constantly? Noone would ever get anything killed if that started becoming rampant. Do you realize how easy it would be an opposing LS that lost claim to cause Fafnir to Spike Flail?

What's with the "everybody does it anyway" mentality? It's sad people prioritize their own greed over courtesy to other players, but what's even worse is when they attempt to justify it with such nonsense. There are people who will not do anything to get the item they want.

Not to mention this kind of behavior leads to a vicious cycle. LS A steals Mob X from LS B. LS B is angry, and decides to steal mobs from LS A in the future. Which in turn makes LS A upset. Repeat. Fun? :|

Kiyashi you're a 73 THF, that said you have 0 added merits for AGI, or evasion. Don't act for one second that WHM wasn't assisting you or the other THF with cures and haste, not to mention blindna.

It's not called jumping to conclusions, rather it's simple logic.
