Marriage on FFXIFollow

Can someone tell me how you go about getting engaged/married on FFXI. Plus what the male and female have to buy to do so. Thanks.

its a japanese game so im assumin they're keepin it traditional, sadly.

Very sad indeed. I think there was a petition around the 'net that I saw for allowing same-sex marriages in-game. I think over 1000 people signed it. I'm not sure how far it has gotten though.

Ok, I'll tell ya what I know about them...

BigSturg is close but here is the actual information for it. I am getting married myself so I hope this helps. If you goto the FFXI login screen and then goto Compendium they have a wedding section with all the information you'll need about it, but here it is in short term ^-^

~ You must have someone else besides the bride and groom fill out the application to have you married.

~ The bride and groom can decide on the place they want to get married from the selection provided or if you have good reason you can request a different place. Each town has at least 3 places or you can get married in Jueno.

~ The prices range from 20k for a guest capacity place of 10 people to 80k for a guest capacity of 32 i believe. Jueno is automaticaly 80k. (Prices im not totally sure of but they are approximately this) Becareful of the guest list because the bride groom and chaperone (which all must be there one hour before the celebration starts are included in the guest capacity number)

~ Weddings are held Thursday through Sunday at a choise of 3 times. I believe the times are 3-5-7pm PST. I know 7 PM PST is one (10 PM EST) cause thats when I am getting married. As I said before Bride groom and chaperone MUST be there ONE HOUR before the marriage time to confirm arangments. No marriages are held Monday- Wendsday! (I may be wrong bout the days but im pretty sure on this)

~ The bride and groom have a option of chooseing two styles of wedding rings. Style one is where the bride gets a ring with the grooms name on it and vic versa. The second style only has the initials on it. I prefer the 1st style its nicer trust me ^-^

~ The bride and groom can also get a rare/ex wedding dress for 50k extra if they so please. Which i think... hell 50k for a special dress or 1 million gil for the opaline... decisions decisions right. This is totaly optional and only for the bride sorry grooms :(

~ As for engagments, thats up the players. My fiancee bought me a ring and got down in the kneeling position and asked me to marry him ^-^ SE doesnt do anything special bout the engagment though.

~ Oh yeah there are certain styles you can get married in. Sandorian: Where the bride and groom bring their weapons to the wedding. Bastok: Um I don't know bastok honestly :x. Windurst: The bride and groom each cook a dish and bring it to the wedding. I am doing sandorian tehe ^-^

~ All guests are given fire crackers and snappers for the celebration.

~ Given you get the most expensive things your total will be about 130K but it could be as low as 70k. (Don't shoot me if I am wrong)

Weddings are beautiful ceremonies ^-^ I can't wait for mine in May! Oh thats another thing, you can pick 3 dates and times but it is a random draw so you may not get first choice. There is a calander when the chaperone fills the form out to give them ideas on whats the better dates to go for ^-^
