Hey :) I'm new to FF (about 2 month into it) and my friend suggested that I camp NM Spook for mantles to up my gil, but I can't ever seem to get it.

I use the provoke spam method were you open up your Job abil box and spam provoke. But when I spam it I target a worm or some other type of mob behind the wall. I've asked other campers for some tips, but they say unhelpful things like "be fast" :P Please if anyone has any tips on claiming spook share em! :O Anyone know a fix to my problem on targeting mobs behind the wall when spaming enter? Thanks ^^

DON'T SPAM!

Wait til you see Spook and THEN try and provoke it.

Ok...so DON'T take this as a fact, but someone told me that THEY DID try it and that it worked. But of course, people have told me they have seen movies that they said were good, but yet....they sucked. People have told me how beautiful a place was, but have never been there before. I think you get the jist of my point.

So, why don't you try this - and then if it works, come back and let the peeps know, and praise me up and down for how awesome my ideas are. Ok...so maybe I'm not really looking for praise, that was a joke....but come back and let people know if this works so that they can do it too.

Here's the scoop:

Apparently,

In a provoke macro, you can insert the actual name of the mob:

EXAMPLE

/ja Provoke <name of mob> -

this macro may not be exact, but it should be pretty close.

To test this - go somewhere that there is a lower level mob you can kill easy - Konschtat Highlands for example:

/ja Provoke <Mad Sheep>

If it works on the mad sheep, it'll work on anything with a name.

So, in theory you can spam this macro all you want, and the only time it'll catch something is when your NM mob pops. (thus avoiding the other worms and stuff behind the wall)

I don't have my war levelled AT ALL, so I haven't tried provoke. The reason that I suggested this, is because it works with magic.

/ma Dia <Mad Sheep> <<<<<this DOES work...tried and tested.

Sorry to mis-lead anyone if the provoke one doesn't work...but hey...i'm just trying to help.

On a side note..as stated above...you CAN camp NM's with magic and spam the macro with the NM's name and it WILL work.

Well the best tips i can give you is................

1) Perservere
2) Learn who the fastest pullers are, never camp spook if they are there - Waste of time (Trust me),
Anelira, Dantesparda, Delroy, and apparently new ones are there that are rather fast. are too fast for most people. Just go camp CG or GG, not as often pop(or drop)but you're more likely to claim them.
3) Leave after a few days and find another NM, otherwise you become pathetic and depressed because a) you cantget claim b) your only 8/31 c) you can claim when the bots ARE there but never get drops. again trust me been there done that bought the T-shirt. And i've also seen it happens to others :P
4) Build TP before the spawn times 20:00-21:00 / 23:15-4:00/ 3:15-4:00. When you claim during the first two you are more likely to get a third spawn if you kill it faster via using your TP.
5) Don't undercut the AH, fellow campers who check it often and who may know you, may get pi$$ed because you stopped thier mantle selling for extended amounts of times ¬.¬ *cough* Jor... *cough*
6) NEVER PARTY WITH SOMEONE FOR IT. Most usually leave after they have got 'their' mantle.
7) Find other NM''s alternate way of gettin gil
8) STOP LISTENING TO YOUR FRIENDS
9) Dont rely on Spook as major source of income.

Hope these help :P
