I have notice there are a number of people trying to sell A shihei for 5k per powder. That will be 500k if someone buy a full stack from them. These people are plain lazy or they get some sastifaction while doing so?

You can't really call it a scam, people just need to pay more attention. The fact of the matter is that you can't sell stacks of things in your bazaar, but people are always in a rush and don't pay attention to how bazaars work. It sucks if you end up throwing away gil like that, but you can't necessarily blame the person (hell, even they might not know that you can't sell stuff in stacks)

Some people also try it with insect paste. Ofcourse the loss won't be that big if you happen to buy 1 ball instead of 12 but it still sucks.

Yes its a growing trend, and people are doing on purpose, yes they are scammers, they are purposely trying to get you not paying attention.

You can all thank Butters for starting this, he has been doing it for about 8 months now, but people have caught on to him so he has made a new mule and just keeps doing it.

These people should be kicked out of game, people dont think its against TOS but it is in a round about way.

That's not really a Scam, more a Supply and Demand.

Notice how when you are driving a Car, The City Areas and Roads near the Main Highways have higher Gas Prices, Versus the Middle of nowhere gas stations. (sometimes Inverse senario)

I call that Supply and Demand, Mixed with Player Lazyness.

I sometime Bazaar my Higher Level gear when in an XP Pt, and I ask alot more then it Typically Costs. Not because I'm trying to Scam people, but for the basis of, If you want to buy it on the Spot, I'd like a Profit for taking it off my Hands.

Did you miss what the OP is saying? I can understand marking up prices, but selling 1 shihei for 5k when a stack of 99 is 6-8k? Thats not marking up, thats a scam.

So by this example that would be like $1.00 a gallon normally and with this kind of mark up, it would be $1,000.00 pr gallon. I'm sorry that is not supply and demand.

It's not against the ToS in any way, shape, or form.

It is morally disgusting, but hey, only idiots fall for it, so it's hard to feel bad for them. By the time you need shihei you should know how bazaars work.

The Scale of the Price Diffence is not the Point, just the Basis of being able to Charge More.

Smart Consumers shop around, instead of complaining about spending too Much IMO.

They are not trying to Charge more, they are trying mislead people who are not familiar with the bazaar and get some fast gil. We know a stack of powder cost around 5-6k while trying to sell it for 5k a powder, i don't consider that as "charge more".

Wait a second...where are you seeing 5k for a stack of shihei? Everywhere I look it's 7-8k. >_<

Unfortunately, it's people's way of taking advantage of another's rush. Just like in real life though, it's up to us to take care of ourselves and pay attention so we don't get taken. Just pay attention and chances are, you'll be fine. Most of us aren't that niave in real life, why we get that way when we log onto the game is beyond me. We are playing with other people, so of course human greed is going to enter the equation.

Yes it is wrong.

I have a lot of items in my bazaar that I tend to use but only have them jacked really high in price because I tend to throw out a lot of items like earth crystals that I never use. Yea granted I could sell them but I tend to try to keep the higher drops. I do this so when I am running through my items I don't throw out say my Haubergeon or something foolish like that. People think I am showing off and other things but truthfully I have two mules that I sell things on as well as my main..I store three sets of gear at each mule so if and when I go back and level other jobs I dont' have to buy other gear. People get mad at my bazzar when they see it, but to me it is my bazzar and I tend to put things in so I dont' throw certain items out, but also I don't sit out in the middle of jueno for hours on end trying to sell things.

I wonder how much these strategies actually work though.

Actually If i'm not mistaken there is a section in the TOS regarding ill intent to other players or such, I'll go check again I could be wrong.

Ok, it's not directly in the ToS but in the rules of conduct it states notable acts of fraud, which it includes deciet.
Problem with the rules of conduct is it tends to be a little vauge.
