The Great Outpost Swap (idea)Follow

How many of you are not rank 5 and wish you could easily get around to the 3 main cities? How many of you are rank 5 and are sick of waiting for an airship? How many of you are willing to overlook your pride for the good of the whole server? I propose the 3 main nations take turns swapping control of their nearest regions.

To do this it would take a massive, well organize low level experiencing bananza, as well as a low level mass-suicide. Basically we could organize as many people as possible from one nation to level in another nations backyard. At the same time, people form that nation will take a low level job that they don't mind deleveling and take it outside and sacrifice themselves to the beastmen.

Once the other nation gets control of the region they can do supply runs and then have access to teleport at all times for 800 gil. If it could be organized effectively this would be for the good of all on the server involved. What are everybody elses opinions on this?

I'd love it if this could happen, but I think it would be impossible. Doing this would require the cooperation of a large majority of the server, not just the ones who visit this board. If I saw my home region being taken over by another country, and I didn't know why, I would try to take control back.

This is a great idea, but yeah it'll probably never happen unfortunately.

Maybe if we were able to get a few linkshell leaders to support this it could work out. A few of them could get their entire linkshell's support and then all of a sudden we could have hundreds of people doing this.

In hopes that some fluke occurance of this people could always encourage leveling low level jobs and subjobs in foreign territory. Everybody has a pessimistic view on this. I doubt anyone would really be willing to try and help me get this off the ground.

Even if we had a couple hundred people doing this. What do you think would happen when say the other couple thousand people noticed that this was happening. I'm willing to bet that they would start leveling a low level job to take the region back.

Unless there was some way to get the majority of the server in on it I don't really see it happening.

Actually, the best time to do this would be during certain events that keep people from leveling.

Also what about the idea of getting a bunch of people to donate equipment to outposts. Hell they even accept crossbow bolts.

Honestly if we had a few hundred people doing this I don't think enough people would notice/care to be able to stop it. You say thousands would go against the hundreds, but at any one time there are only like 2-3.5k people logged in at a time, and only 1/3 of those would be loyal in the area in question. How many of you check the regional status of your home area every time you log in?

In all seriousness the only way we would be able to pull this off would be to get a few/bunch of large linkshells to work together on it. Basically if any linkshell leader would like to volunteer for this, post here with information that I can contact you at since I know not everybody actively checks the server forums. If you would like to get a hold of me through other means my aim name is darnimsexy.

I still don't view that as an issue if we get enough linkshells to support it. Hell some may even see the benefit of it and help out if they ever realize what is going on.

I've wanted to do this for a while now, I think it's a great idea.
As I see it, the easiest way to do this...Get the linkshell leaders as suggested previously. Have them rally their members and head the the area in question to be taken over...of course they'd have to be from the same nation.
On Sunday, everyone dedicated enough grabs the gil they're willing to spare and trades it to the outpost at the last minute. You get enough regional points from the traded gil, and competition will NOT be a problem, as it's last minute and no one will have time to fight back.
I'd throw 100k or more at this on general principle, and I'm not exactly rich. Get ten or so people with 10k here and 10k there...voila, you now own Sarutabaruta.
I'm all for it, I'll ask my linkshell about it and tell you if you have their support.
Anyone else who thinks this is a good idea....tell your linkshell and post the results here.

p.s.

All you pessimists can eat it.

This sounds pretty straight forward to me, and not as hard as some might think.

Please consider that, (for example) not only will Windurstians sacrificing themselves to the beastmen in Sarutabaruta and removing influence from Windurst, but there will also be San d'Orians decimating beastmen there and increasing San d'Oria influence as well, therefore doubling progress.

And I don't know if many of you remember the newbie areas around N.A. launch time, but it really doesn't take that much death to remove a nation's influence from a region. And with both parties doing their part in killing and dying, it could happen pretty easy. It's just a matter of getting people to get up and do it. xD

If you really wanna do this, I'm down. :P

Can you donate straight gil or do you have to donate items to be able to improve your nation's influence?

You can't donate straight gil, so the best idea would be to craft, buy or steal all the equipment you wanted to carry/afford and take it there on Sunday.

So when is this gonna happen and which outpost first?

Before we actually do it we need to establish who all is supporting it, and we need to establish set times to do it as well. Also, who all is supporting it will effect which outpost gets done first. Since it would be easiest to do it for the nation that has the most support.
