Seeking top-level crafters for purchasesFollow

If you're a top-level crafter on Ragnarok, and would entertain occasional offers from me for certain high-end items, or perhaps a batch of consumables, that often aren't available at the AH, please let me know with a reply here.

I hope to be "one of you" ("you" high-end crafters, that is) someday myself, probably in woodworking and/or in another skill. (Yup, I know about the "40 over 60" rule.)

I'm posting this plea out of frustration from having the gil for an item yet being unable to find it at any of the four major AHs.

Current interests include these, although my needs will change with time:
- Witch Stew (or, heck, just mushroom)
- Witch Kabobs
- Noble Bed (*- I ended up borrowing one from LS ... but I may want to buy it in future anyway, after I've had to return the loaner, so I can retain the Moghancement:Experience)
- Great Doublet (and other "Great" HQ versions of "Cotton" armor)
- etc., etc. :)

I'm in the same boat as you. I've been going nuts looking for Austere Sabots.

I'll ask around my ls and see if anyone can help you out.

At least there's some company for my misery^^

I'm not rich, but I do craft up enough gil to buy the occasional "super" XP PT food, for example, like Witch Stew ... and I expect it to be costly ... but it's all but nonexistent. Even the NQ variant, Mushroom Stew, is seldom seen.

I think the high-end crafters would be glad to get a guaranteed sale, perhaps in return for slightly less than the AH price (particularly for Jeuno-market-only items, where the cost of a non-sold item is much higher). That's what I do for my ammo customers.

Cooking 91.8, expecting it to be be 94 or 95 by the end of the week.
/befriend Irui when you get a chance and send a message, lest I forget o_O
Anyway, I'm looking at Mushroom Stew recipe right now, and the ingredients aren't looking pretty in terms of availability. It's an 85 cap recipe, so HQ Witch Stew will kind of be a crapshoot, but we'll see what happens. I'll figure out a base priceline after we talk. Witch Kabobs should be easy to do if you're still interested in those.

Chrysta, I'll try to get with you in game. I could really use Austere Sabots and I've got a bit over ah price set aside for them if someone is going to craft them to pay for materials and time and such. Or I can track down the materials. But I'll give you a tell so we can discuss.

Good to hear from ya. I tried /befried Irui this morning but got a "you cannot" error message, so I suppose you must be online when I am for that to work. (I can't remember how /befriend works ... how pathetic is that ... I also can't remember how to send someone NOT yet on my friends list a message other than a /tell ... oi.)

But I'll keep trying to /befriend in hopes of catching you online. Again, name's Grommet^^

/befriend only works if the person is online. You can search for them through the POL viewer and add them when they are offline. Since you know the server and the player name, it should be easy enough to find them. Just make sure you go with the FFXI Friend search instead of one of the other ones.

Chrysta, I may seek out your -abot character for the elemental Beads needed for Elemental Staves later. (Unless the synth requires GSmithing skill, which it might; must check recipe ...)

i just wanted to point out that at level 20 whitemage you do not need to use witchkabobs... or any food at all. pies may be good but they aren't worth the price for whitemages. espeacially at lv20. most of the time something like this will happen:

You use a Witchkabob.
Fight a couple pugs.
Someone dies.
Random noob: "sry i gtg k? thx for pt bai."
Leader spends 45 minutes looking for another member then finally invites a 25war/9rdm because no one else was seeking.
You kill a Pugil for 80 experience points!
10 minutes later someone else says "sorry bad xp no thanks bi thanks for pt guys bi!"
Leader: "sorry pt disbanding k? ty for pt! i had loads of fun!"

you have just wasted a witch kabob and gained 800xp in 2 hours!

Obviously one has to consider, in making food choices, the risk of such waste as you suggest. Sometimes I am PTing with one or more friends (if not with a full PT of them), and that reduces the risk enough that I will want to splurge on a witch item. (I have never eaten a witch kabob but did recently buy a stack, partly because i had a few extra gil AND am growing concerned that they won't be available at later levels when food becomes more important.)

ermmm nope.. you don't even need pies as a whm, much less witch stew or whatever expensive crap you wanna eat.. especially not as a taru. save your money for upcoming expenses; just because you have the extra gil doesn't mean you have to spend it right now.
