Did some edits to find that my file sharing service has all but abandonded me.
Anyone know of a good place I can post my work, and allow others to download them?

Traya,
Okay, I got your mask. However, due to the nature of the models, covering the lower part of your face covered your ears as well. That part looks rather silly to my mind, but have a look see and judge for yourself.

Ninja?

The file.

Rag Mystikal,
Your AF is done. I really hate all the parts showing skin, so I covered your shoulders and thighs as well as stomach.

Good?

The files - now in ZIP format!

In other news, I still need a good place to host my stuff, and can't do any more until then.

Hello,

I have a very simple request that could be done in a matter of minutes (I assume).

I am a large size Galka with the face "F2-B" from the modelviewer.

Being a clothcrafter, I like to wear my specs around a lot when not xping. However, due to the nature of my character, it is very difficult to see the specs unless you zoom in a LOT. I'd just like for you to change the transparent lenses of the magnifying spectacles into a rally blue color (the color that Subaru WRX's are often in).

Being on Ragnarok, I'd be happy to throw you a generous donation for your time.

In regards to not being able to find a file host, how large would these files be? If you could send the files via e-mail it'd probably make the whole process easier. Let me know via PM or by responding to this thread if my email and specs ideas are feasible.

Thank you for your time, once again, and you are very talented ^^

Hi again Rag. Since im a 66 war and same hume model as you i put in these awesome lookin files to try and get them to work aswell. The Specticles word perfect, as do the gloves. The rest of the AF is where i have trouble. Where you able to get the gloves ingame?

PS: Artaea, I used modelviewer to try and find maybe if they were located on another piece of armor. The only thing i noticed was for legs Haidate make my legs invisible.
Once my legs are invisible i can see the boots you made. But they overlap other boots. I havenet figured out how to get the body to show. I hope this helps you out. Sorry i couldnt do more.

Alright, great work Art! I figured out what was wrong. The filenames were backwards for 3 of the pieces (body/legs/feet)
I noticed it once I had the modelviewer show me the .dat filenames for each piece of equipment.

For you Trow, basically 27-103 and 93-16 are proper, but you need to change 10-93, 22-93 and 28-93 around, they are all supposed to be in the 93 Folder under those respective filenames (10,22,28)
Gonna change em around right now, and I'll let you know how it goes. Should work, I have no doubts. ^_^ Good luck on your end. Thanks again Art!

BTW, through this I learnt I could have actually just changed the spectacles myself. I'm going to now make my Tungi look like a Guttler lol!

Yet again I make a retarded mistake due to fatigue...but the only time I will ever do edits is when I should be asleep, so I'll have to deal with it.

Majest,
I can whip that up. Though I might just need to turn the shaded specs blue.
Edit: If I emailed all this business to everyone, why, no one could see my lovely finished work, or download the edits for themselves!
No, I need a file hosting service. The files are not large, in fact every edit I have done so far can, collectively, fit onto a single disk. However, one disk is all the space I had on Sharemation, and I just ran out.

I've got another question for you... As far as shading goes... do you do it the hard way of matching color? or do you have some sort of other trick that you use?

Crovus,

There's some other trick I use...sort of. I still need to eye-match them, but it's very easy.
There are several different ways of changing all of a specific color in a file, or the tinting on the whole image. Select Color > Color Balance is one. Using the eyedropper to select the color and choosing Replace Color is another. I just make sure the sliders are in similar areas and use my eyes for what they were designed to do.

Ok, got another question... I'm trying to switch the Joyeuse to look like the Elvaan Ark Angel's Sword... I have the MQO file set right, skinned with the right .bmp, and have that converted to .dds... how do i take care of the .mcd file? I don't have MathCad, nor do i know how to use it. If it is easier for you to just do the .dat for me, i would appreciate it. I am a hume male.

Artaea, you should figure out a way to be able to change the .Dat files on the PS2 version of FFXI i was thinking that it might be possible to take the HDD and put it as a back-up on your computer then find a way to access the files through that and change the .Dat files then if you can figure out a way to do it let me know becuase i have some changes that i would like you to make on my FFXI Character

Crovus, I tried to do this sort of thing a while ago and gave up on it. I made some progress, but...
Regardles, can you detail what you've done so far? Also, what is MathCad? If we can figure this out, I'd LOVE to have the Ark Scythe, and gladly make you the sword.

Pillgrim, that ain't happenin'. I don't HAVE the game on PS2, and I furthermore have no idea what sort of hook up it would require, whether it's compatible with Windows, Dos, Linux or whatever, or what kind of protection it has.

Ok, well basically, the .mcd extenstion is MathCad. Do a Google search for MathCad, and you'll see why a) i don't have it, and b) why i won't be getting it. As far as progress goes, I took the AAEV file, taken out all elements except the sword, saved it as Joyeuse.MQO, renamed the .bmp file to Joyeuse0.bmp, reskinned (because you convert the .bmp to .dds (i use DDS Converter 2) the Model Viewer doesn't use the .bmp file, and just decided it was quicker to reskin, and convert than to copy files and rename). But since the Model Viewer uses the .MCD format to convert, it's a toss up as to what to use since i don't have MathCad. Other programs share the same extention as MathCad (.mcd), but MathCad seems to be the most common.

I'm back on FFXI permanently now, just to let you know if you could do me the kilt or the Scottish flag face paint I mentioned before I'd be more than happy to reward you.

Artea, I'm back and i have another request that requires your great skills. I have currently leveled rdm to 60 and now have all my af. Only prob now is only 3 pieced of it is actually used in xp and i tends to get boring to look at it for the next 15+ levels. I'd like to know if its possible to have duelist gear recolored so all the deep red could be replaced with a deep blue.

Also I'm getting into the model recoloring but currently cant get the files to convert into a format the game reckognizes. Any help here would be much appreciated.

Hello, guys. My computer broke, again.

I can do the Deulist easily, and the face paint may work. The kilt sounds like a problem, but I may be able to pull it off.
However, I've got nowhere to host the files right now.

Hi... Artaea...? I read a post from a friend of yours... i think he is your friend... on Killing Ifrit... and... I dont play ragnarok anymore... so i cant donate to you... and Im on the Alexander server... so i dont know if your on there... but i was wondering if you could do some edits for me...? i was really appreciate it...
ill type out all of the info you requested now...

Im Elvaan, small body size, face 2, with hair style A
my job is Dragoon... i was wondering if you could change the color of my AF armor to white...? and one of a Dark Green... please...? if you could post the two different files that would be awesome... so i can choose between them ._.;

And i was wondering if your able to change the color of his hair to a dark brown? not too dark... but like... dark-ish brown... and sorry if i sound picky... but you said to be specific... nothing red-ish brown... just... regular dark brown...

and... i dont exactly want the edit for this... not yet at least... but could you just show me what it would look like with scars, or at least marks on the elvaans face... like this... if its possible... i know you said it does the symetrical face thing... so... if you cant get it on one side, thats fine...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v612/Sensetsu/elvaannosescar.png

again... you dont have to... but... i would really appreciate it... and... you dont have anywhere to host the files...? mmm... i sent you a PM... or if you just read this... contact me on AIM at OkeruZaAme or FFXIFORUM... or just e-mail me at LordSen@hotmail.com that might be easiest... again... if youre willing to do this... a thousand thanks...

Artaea, you are a very, VERY talented person. I have a task for you. I am a noob Samurai on Shiva Server and Im very interested see the SAM AF1 (Magoroku) look something simular to Sephoroth's Katana. Nothing fancy, just longer. But then again, I would like I want you to be creative. Be you...
This WILL NOT pose as a challenge to you. Also, I would like for you to give my mithra long hair with a redish eye color. I have the same model that Krista has. Size: Small. Also, be creative. Anyone can give you a detail and have you make it so, but the best work is done when you let an artist be him/herself.
