To get Fenrir? If I was to leech the fight, how much would it cost? I read some people doing it for 1mil or so but I am not sure.

in order to do the fenrir fight u have to have a special item from all the other smns so u would have to leech EVERY single fight before u could fight him

Best way is to get 5 high lvl smns to do it for you. I don't think that makes it 'easy' but it's more straightforward I believe. 5 Leviathan's vs. Fenrir. As for prices, I think they all have their own way of pricing. I don't know if many even offer it. Anaya once made a thread in another forum about pricings, but I forgot how much. It was pretty expensive tho. And yeah you need to do all the other smn fights first to collect their whispers. ;x

Yes I know I need to get the items from all the other avatars. I can get those easily, but was just wondering how much Fenrir fight would cost me =\.

If you can get the items easily enough, it may be better to get with some higher level friends to go into the Fenrir battle. I am sure there are still some on our server doing the pay for him thing, but I haven't seen/heard of anyone in awhile. The last price I had heard was 5mil which breaks down to 1mil a person who goes into the battle. Some will also require you to have a whm friend with Raise III or they will provide one for an additional fee. All in all, it's best waiting til you can go with a friend to get him. I want him bad myself, but if I had 5 mil, I'd get my vermy cloak.

Wow, 5mil for the fight? If it was around 1mil for all I would most likely pay it, but for 1mil a person its a waste of gil.

Leeching Fenrir is also a kick in the teeth / nuts (Take yer pick) to all the people who are doing it the hard way. A friend of mine in game is leveling Whm to 70 so he can get Fenrir and Carby Mitts before he's even thinking of touching Smn again.

And to anyone that does do that, seeing people trying to pay their way through doing both is really a kick in the teeth / nuts.

But to each their own... I much prefered it when all the Summons were only the full party higher level battles. Personally I myself refuse to even get the job till I have all the summons.

How is it a kick in the teeth to people? Why should someone get a job that they dont want to level 70+ just to have a chance at getting an avatar for the job they really want to play? While I dont agree with your views on leeching, I give you and your friend credit on trying to do it the "right" way. If someone has the gil to spend on it, why not?

If you really want this done. /tell Anaya.

Anaya will charge according to your level. I *believe* the prices were like 1mil for under 65, 500k for 66-70, and 300k for 71-75.

Anyway, you can ask Feydora how much he paid for his. He leeched his Fenrir also.

Ok I understand you are risking a lot when you do this battles but still that a lot of farming for a stupid wolf. I know he helps but still. (I want him so bad) Well when and if I ever get 70-75 I will be more the happy to help anyone get him for FREE.

While I'm struggling myself trying to get to the point where I can get him, it doesn't bother me if someone wants to take the pay their way through the fight way out. I just want to be able to at least participate some in the fight. I know when I go I'll be considered a leech even though I plan on waiting until at least 65. But I would like him before 70.

At the risk (nay the assurance!) of getting rated right on down into the floor boards.....

What exactly is the difference between paying someone else to fight for you so that you may acquire a Summon....and paying someone to farm for you (gil buying)? Aren't they both forms of 'cheating'.

Hmmmmm........

I thought you were going to defend this. I agree wholeheartedly. What is the point of you playing the game if you don't (at the very least) try to accomplish the harder things on your own?

Good point never thought of it that way. Although the people being paid for the fights aren't selling it for real money. Thus making it ok I guess. not to me. thats an ungodly amount of gil. Seeing how I have to save up for a Vermillion cloak. Blah

I'm not into the paying for help. I help people for free, in fact I downright have refused rewards before. But I do understand the desperation people have when they try time and time again to accomplish something and can't because not everyone is willing to help.

I guess you could say I leeched my Carby Mitts. I didn't pay for the help. In fact, I didn't even think getting them was possible. But some good friends took me for my birthday and helped me aquire them. I was level 46.

Some of the same people who did that are also willing to do the Fenrir fight with me when I am ready to go. They don't expect me to get to 70-75 first. But I have put the 65 requirement on me before we go. I am going to try to do something nice for these people, not in the form of gil, as a thank you. Are they asking for it? No. There is always the chance they won't accept what I plan to do for them. And truth be told, I want to do it for them even without the Fenrir thing because they are my friends. I don't consider help from friends cheating. The way this game is designed, you need help to do anything. I helped a friend get rank 3 before she even had her chocobo license. She managed to get around and do all of the legwork herself and build a party for the final fight and needed one more person to go. I went. Some would have considered her a leech because she was below cap when she went in. But she participated and we won with ease.

Not everyone is lucky enough to have a good group of people to do these things with and shouts in Jueno or other towns often get ignored by people who just don't want to help without reward. That's where the custom of paying people started.

Fenrir to summoners is like the sniper rings and other equipment to other jobs. At certain levels, if we don't have him, parties don't want us. It doesn't matter that we don't have the option of going to the auction house and paying for him. What's the difference of a summoner paying someone to take them into the fight and someone else buying their spells/equipment at the ah when the lack of Fenrir can be the cause of just as many being kicked from parties as lack of the so called best equipment? I understand he was meant to be a reward for advancing so far in the game, but with the people who demand what they perceive as the best in their party, not having him can really hurt someone's chances of leveling. It shouldn't, but it does. So yeah, I can see why people resort to this. And that is why it doesn't bother me when they do.
