Shining examples of TeamworkFollow

I've been looking over the lists, and I see a whole slew of topics. We've got posts from all over the world, some intellectual debates, some complaints about wrongs we've suffered, some about the people we've met and grown to cherish. Yet there is one topic missing, at least in the short time that I've been posting here.

What makes this game great isn't just the people themselves; it's these great people all working together to accomplish things, and having a blast while they do it. So this thread is intended to be a place for individuals to recount shining examples of teamwork. Doesn't have to be major, just something that struck you in a positive way as you worked with other folks, and helped to make your game experience better. I'll offer one of my own:

As some of you know, I'm the leader of the TSHoT HNMLS. This past Saturday, we fought Suzaku for the first time. I was a little nervous going in, I must admit - the idea of Chainspell Firaga3 & Flare didn't exactly appeal to me. We reviewed the tactics for avoiding it, and then started the fights...and I must say the combatants performed beautifully, without exception. I stood back from my place in the tank party, and just watched in awe as a group of folks who were (with the exception of about 2 people) complete noobs to this fight take apart a tough adversary. It just made me think how fortunate I am to have found such a group of capable and selfless friends, and how honored I am to be their leader. Plus it was an amazing amount of fun! :D Drops were mediocre, bordering on crappy, but I didn't hear a single complaint from anyone. It was arguably the best day I've had in XI yet.

Now if a grumpy old Taru can have a story like this, I know there have to be others, and I'd absolutely love to hear them...great people make the game good, but great people working together make it unbelievable. So please, post your stories!

That's really awesome. I'm glad you all had a great time. It's so weird to see posts by higher levels that are still so positive. Gives the rest of us hope.

Grats on your accomplishment!

It can be often a fustrating experience to try to organize a lot of people and in some cases, almost a chore. But you do get into those large groups where everything just seems to flow. People work together, stick together in travel and go to their battle positions all without wandering. They just do what has to be done instead of fighting who is trying to organize/lead the entire time.

When I went to do prom. mea it was like that for me. Unfortunately, only one of the three parties succeeded in the end, but the 18 people working together to get to that final fight was a refreshing and fun experience. Everyone just knew their job and what to do, even though most of us had never gone before. The ones organizing it were extremely helpful in getting us ready so we knew exactly what to expect and how to handle it. Large groups working together was one of the main reasons why I got into this game. I wanted to feel as if I was a small part of something bigger. And events like this definately help make that happen.

Welll it's been coffer key week over on the DBS linkshell. I want to thank everyone else who has tagged along, even though they got their key and didn't need to stay. I can't believe we had 13 people in Garlaige yesterday, just for one last key. When a few people decided that Eldeime was next, even though I'm getting burned out on key hunting, I went. To my surprise, so did a few other people. They didn't need their keys either, just wanted to go and help. I think we all had a lot of fun, regardless of the occasional death mishap. It's just so awesome to find people still exist on this server that just want to come and hang out and help people do whatever it is they need to do.
By the way, Eldeime is a scary scary place. I am not looking forward to returning there again today for 3 or 4 more keys. But I'm going. Where else am I going to have that much fun with my friends?

That's awesome Queenie. Actually, the next time you folks go, check and see if I'm around - I've got some lower lv weapons to skill, and I'd like to meet some of the folks I've been talking to here. If I can, I'll tag along, so long as that's acceptable. Let me know :D

We are going back to Eldeime tonight for 3 or 4 more keys. (8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific) I don't know our next destination for keys, but I told them they could throw my key for Temple of Uggalepih on the back burner for now. I've been level 52 for a couple of months and don't see me hitting level 60 anytime soon and therefore don't need my hat.
By the way my boss gave me tomorrow off so if anyone wants to party, I'm ready! 52 sam/thf at your service, and no, I can't sub war. :D

The example that stands out most in my mind is the alliance that formed for my AF battle in Fei'Yin. I had read terrible things about this battle...the spamming of dimensional death and whatnot and I was quite nervous. Worried about ppl dying just for my stupid AF. The trip there went well, only had one straggler who got lost...lol but with a 17 person alliance, i didn't think that was too bad. so many ppl came and helped, and only a handful was i friends with at the time. we went over the battle, what to expect, since i had ppl in the alliance that had done it several times before.

i cast stoneskin and blink, touched the ??? and out he popped. he was quickly voked off of me and within one minute and 30 seconds he was dead. i was dumbfounded. it went off without a hitch. he died so quickly that i began to think 17 ppl was a bit of overkill...lol but everyone worked so well together and it warmed my heart that they all did it just for me. have to give a big thanks to everyone but unfortunately i can't remember all the names since it was a month or so ago. ; ;
Big thanks to Oldrottweiler for asking members of his LS to come help, and they did, even though i wasn't a member yet. and Big thanks to Frreefilue for leaving his exp pt and coming to keep his promise to tank (or try to) for me. ^^

Big thank you to Lalryn who came and hung out with us in Eldieme last night. The coffer key hunting isn't so bad. It's exactly why I strated playing this game in the first place. Just hanging out, having fun with my friends. Why can't it all be like this?

Hi Veruca! Lusifur quit. :(
