Definitely not boring. I liked the second episode better than the first, the sniper was an interesting character.

Of course, from what I can tell so far. SpoilerI am expecting it to be your basic crime drama. Each week being a new case as the '63s return and have to be hunted down. It's a pretty common way to have the story progress. Not exactly a bad thing, Fringe, Haven, X-Files, they all followed the same recipe.

Alan Grant will take each prisoner to Alcatraz v2.0 at the end of each episode. We'll see what he does/doesn't know about Mrs. Coma being one of the '63.

I wish Charter would hurry up and make a deal with Fox to provide Fox shows on their On Demand service. I know there is probably some deal that Fox got with the Dish networks. I read in some Charter support forums that it would be around 2013 that they could try to do it.

I *really* need to get my service upgraded to DVR. I just never have time to stop in and talk to them, and I always forget to call them.

Until then, Fox shows are always first in my list to watch 'live' since every other channel is On Demand.

Time Warner is flaky about what shows it puts On Demand. Terra Nova (on Fox) is available, but Person of Interest (CBS?), is not (but a truckload of other CBS shows are). That was an annoying lesson to learn. My DVR occasionally just decides to not buffer a channel its tuned to. When this happens while recording, it records nothing (then deletes the show after recording since its an empty file). I can usually catch the shows On Demand when this happens, but not always. Grrr...



DVR is well worth the cost IMO (even when it occasionally doesn't work). Can't imagine trying to actually watch TV "live" anymore. And while On Demand is ok, as you've discovered, they don't have everything. Also, while your service may be different, my On Demand usually disables fast forward when viewing stuff from the broadcast networks. So no ability to watch an hour show in 40 minutes (and avoid commercials). Which is annoying.


EDIT: Oh! I forgot my original reason for wanting to post. Watched the show last night. It's interesting, but they really do need to either push more into what ever is causing the reappearances (and the original disappearance!), or get more/better cast in or I don't see it lasting. I was just not feeling much from the characters. Maybe that'll change, but something about the cast just seemed a bit "off". None of them really impressed me and the performances seemed a bit wooden.


I just think that it wont work just as a "catch each guy as they show up" deal unless they give us a lot more information along the way. So far we've got pretty much nothing. They toss teasers in with events which occurred in 1960, but nothing about what happened in 63. Yeah, only two episodes so far, so maybe I'm impatient. It just seems like without filling in more of those holes the action and interaction just isn't that interesting. Of course, once they tell us too much, there might not be any mystery.

Hopefully, they've got a great story cooked up that can last as it's being told. Otherwise, I'm not sure how well the series will do.

Haven't seen this yet. Always glad for something new to watch. For crime Drama, I love Silent Witness best. Only several episodes per year, but it's been running for well over a decade, with a change in the central female character half way through, and still going. Towards the end of the middle, I think the plotlines/scripting/casting flagged, but it picked up again nicely once they wrote out the original female lead, and wrote in in the new. I don't think this was the fault of the original lead actress at all. She was extremely charismatic in an intense and brooding kind of way, but they started to cast lightweights against her and it didn't work. Very glad they extended it with the new team configuration.

When I watch anything on ABC or NBC, Fast Forward, Rewind, and Pause are all disabled. I'm kind of annoyed by Pause being disabled. If something comes up I have to Stop the show, then restart it after.

I can understand not wanting people to fast forward past commercials. But Pause/Rewind are not things used to skip commercials. Luckily when the shows are put up on ABC or NBC they have limited commercial interrupts (even if they are usually repeated over and over) and the overall length is about 50 minutes instead of the full 1 hour. Meaning they cut about 10 minutes of commercials. Of course, while watching Once Upon a Time I think I saw the trailer for John Carter and Beauty and the Beast 3D about... two dozen times. 8 minutes of show, trailer, 8 minutes of show, same trailer, 8 minutes of show, same trailer...

Last night's episode was pretty darn good. Finally started to feel like the characters were real instead of just actors reading a script. I'm really liking the story, so there's hope yet!

Not sure, don't think so to the first question and yep, that's him to the second.

I'm not happy either with Fox's decision, but I'm just hoping that showing these out of sequence won't mess things up too bad. And it's just these episodes that are a bit screwed up, hopefully after next week it'll all be smooth.

Other than that, I'm really liking this. Hurley, I mean Doc, is getting more of a personality as is the cop. Hauser is still a robot, but I think he's supposed to be. And it's to that point now that I have to keep watching to figure out just what is going on. What are the keys for? Why were they taking Tommy's blood? Where have they all been? That kind of stuff.

I'm still liking it. Even more so now, actually. I still want some of those questions answered. And Fox isn't as quick to cancel shows as ABC (I'm also looking at you, FlashForward). I think it'll get another season or two. Fringe and Heroes were also supposed to get the axe after their first seasons, but they hung on. I think no one really wants to kill a JJ production too soon. They're all thinking any show he puts out could be the new "Lost"
