But.. barely any information on said new Code Geass..

Here's hoping they don't pull a Gundam and just reuse the name but use totally different characters.

How the hell did I miss this thread?

Anyway, not sure how I feel about this. I felt that R2 ended well and didn't need to be followed up.

It's not an anime; it's manga. It centers around a new main protagonist, Renya.

I haven't read any of the Code Geass manga, and I'm wary of it as a meritless derivative designed to cash in on the primary product.

Meh, R2 was very complete with its ending, I don't see a need to drag it out further.

I kinda started reading the Geass mangas but Nightmare of Nunally was just... horrible... I had to stop.

I never finished R2. At like episode 19. I think it just went too far on DBZ I'm better then you scale. I thought it was good for most of it. I'm immune to Geas-- no I am! Turn into a million pieces because of some wacky plot point! Haha I win. And it turned into a true gundam mecha for a lot of R2 as well. Which lowered the quality IMO. It was like Death Note, you wish they had just taken it half way and wrapped things up.

The thing that made it from getting too ridiculous in season one was the whole "immunity" thing they got after being affected once. Otherwise, Lelouch just would have been too powerful to be interesting.

I didn't really like R2. I thought the ending was fulfilling, yes, but I basically forced myself to finish the series on virtue of being 75% done.

The big problem with it was what ALWAYS happens when corporate gets involved with plot. When you force the writer into situations they don't want (in this case, Rolo) then it just goes downhill. And that's understandable. When you come up with something or embrace something, the plot flows organically.

It's always clear when the writer is just doing something because they are being forced to.

That said, CC is one of my favorite anime characters I have seen in the past few years. Up there with L from Death Note.

I watched episodes 1 through 24 and loved them.

I loved the first 23 minutes of 25.

After that, I was so disgusted I couldn't watch the rest (a friend also revealed that L never came back. >.< I was hoping for at least a "haunting" type thing where Light hallucinated him). I just watched the last 10 minutes of the last ep for closure.
