Marvel is really pumping out the movies. I kind of wish DC would have more faith in their properties, but the last time they tried to deviate from Superman and Batman we got that monstrosity that was Green Lantern. Anyway, first up is
Captain America - Winter Soldier

We weren't going back to World War II. Cap cannot travel in time. So while Tony can go home to Malibu and Thor goes up to Asgard and Hulk can sort of ride the rails, Cap was stuck. So Cap does stay with S.H.I.E.L.D. because he has nowhere else to go. But he's not necessarily comfortable there. As you might imagine, somebody who’s spent 70 years in ice, frozen, wakes up and has to fight a bunch of aliens with a bunch of weirdos—he is trying to figure out what his life is. And just as he's given permission to let go of the past and to focus on the modern world, a ghost comes up. With the Greatest Generation in World World II, there's a tendency to reflect on that period and say, 'Things were black and white back then, and now it's hard to know who the bad guys are.' 'We wanted to play on that a little with Cap being uncomfortable with the way S.H.I.E.L.D., and in particular Nick Fury, operates. Fury certainly rides a line, sort of rides the shadows. He has, I think, lied to every character in every movie, though always for seemingly for the good.â€

Guardians of the Galaxy
Rag tag group of space heroes fighting space villains, mostly. The comics themselves have been pretty good in the past, with really interesting characters. For the most part, X-Men and Avengers have human-esque characters, whereas the GotG has a talking gun-totting raccoon, a tree (
"I AM GROOT!"), and a super smart Russian dog alongside the sexy green-chick and other humanoid characters. That alone makes it interesting to me. So far all I've found is the casting, with Zoe Saldana (
Uhura in the Star Trek reboot) as Gamara (
previously refered to "sexy green chick," also badass martial artist slash warrior) Chris Pratt (
Nothing that comes to mind) as Star-Lord (
essentially the "leader" of the outfit. Half human half alien, lots of guns, likes coffee), Michael Rooke (
Merle from Walking Dead) as Yondu (
blue dude, red fin-mohawk, usually with a bow and arrow), and Dave Bautista (
big guy, WWE wrestler) as Drax the Destroyer (
Big guy, WWE type) are essentially confirmed. Rocket Raccoon:

I think there’s – here’s the thing: there are a lot of people who have a lot of ideas of who is right for Rocket Racoon. Rocket Racoon has been slightly different over the years, in the comic books, and within my scripts he is a very, very specific guy, and I think people are going to have to wait for a few weeks before they see [who will be cast]. We’ll get our dream guy, because a lot of people want to do it, so we’ll get the person who’s perfect for the role.

(About using real raccoons) We did. I’ve done a lot of studying with real racoons, and we had real racoons come in. We’ve done photography with them, I’ve played with racoons, and fed racoons, and dealt a lot with real racoons to get some of the behaviour down, because it’s really, really important to me that Rocket Racoon, who is the heart of the movie, is not a cartoon character, it’s not Bugs Bunny in the middle of The Avengers, it’s a real, little, somewhat mangled beast that’s alone. There’s no one else in the universe quite like him, he’s been created by these guys to be a mean-*** fighting machine.
Source: comicbookmovie That, to me anyway, pretty much confirms the rodent. And I seriously doubt that they'll make a movie with the rodent without the tree (
I AM GROOT), and it isn't like said tree has many lines anyway. So for me, to make it a movie I seriously want to see all they'll have to do is add Cosmo, the talking Russian scientist dog.
That's what I've got for now. Marvel is calling these movies their "Phase 2," which is pretty cool to me. I'm gonna dig for some Ant-Man info, as he's the one I'm specifically waiting on.
