Let's do ASA today with the Vent crew. Everybody should be around this afternoon. I needz moar Cure Potency.

I still haven't decided what to get for the second augment. My indecision is the reason why I didn't finish it in a day or two like the other 2 gear add-ons. I want to get +movement, but that almost seems like admitting defeat after failing to get WLegs for 3+ years now. Part of me wants to get -PDT and +movement for RDM soloing, but I just don't do that sort of thing much anymore. I might just get -enmity to compensate for Blessed Trousers on WHM.

Oh, and this claim has been available for 4 hours. I am the disappoint.

Claim!!!~

In my opinion and experience, when you create a multi-purpose item, it ends up being only half as good for each purpose. This is why I like to stick with a single purpose, and make it the ultimate piece for such.

A good example is the ACP bodies. I see soooo many people who put augments to help multiple abilities/actions. It ends up making it an inferior piece for both. I've switched my COR body twice now: first it had MAB and Quick Draw time reduction, making it the ultimate piece in the game for Quick Draw. I've now switched it to Racc+10 and Ratk+10, making it the best piece which exists for weaponskill. If I were to get Quick Draw and Ratk on it, it would make it a sub-par piece for both uses.

Whahoo! Cap is going to only be 85 next update. Now I'll be able to catch up on my trials.

I suspected it would be. As I was arguing in =10 about, I've always wondered why everybody assumed it would be 80->89->99.

This means I can keep slacking on subs! yay!

I had it at being 50/50 on being either 85 or to 90. SE stated all along that nothing was set in stone yet.

Because it makes more sense than 80->85->99. Obviously the first update was going to be 5 levels, so the change would be more gradual, and to give us more time to play in abyssea, instead of needing to grind 500k exp for all our jobs right away. After that, it makes sense to split the remaining two level increases in half, going 90->99. 80->85->99 is just dumb.

The December update will probably only go up to 90 and 90+ will be next year now. This also increases the chance of a 90+ mini expansion for next year.

Of course it is. That's why it will most likely be 85->90->95->99

Maybe, but immediately thinking that when they specifically said it would be in 3 updates would be kind of silly.

SE never said we would be 99 by the end of the year. People saw 2 facts: a) level cap is going to 99 b) the schedule for 2010... Then people assumed that the cap would be 99 by the end of the year, which was never said.

Like I said in =10, if someone can link me to that I'll admit I'm wrong.

They did say 99 by the end of the year at the vanafest but afterwards they said that they might only do 5 levels an update. Which is why I had it at 50/50.

The nice thing about MDK/ASA is that a lot of the augments work well by themselves. Haste+3 on the pants will top a lot of haste options for several jobs no matter the second augment. Same I'd say with the Cure Pot+ on the pants. You can combine 2 augments for different purposes without making them inferior to single purpose gear. Just depends on what you currently have.

It's a good way to pass time on FFXI when I don't have much time to do stuff and/or have finished my cooking stuffs for the day. Plus it's a good cure for insomnia.
