1) How long have you been playing FFXI for (and playtime if possible)? Around 3 years maybe?
2) When you started playing FFXI, did you have a specific job in mind, and if so did you ever complete said job? Not really but after some research I took the most middle of the road job available hume rdm, almost hit 73
3) Is that job still as loved now as it was back when you wanted to become one? hellz yes! Still got lots to do with my rdm
4) What one event/moment during your playing time will you regard as the highlight of your time spent playing FFXI? Getting sky access and going on sky runs for the first time, I felt improtrant for the first time
5) Same as question 4, but this time the low point of your time spent playing FFXI? dying a lot, and failing to beat maat like 12 or so times
6) How long can you see yourself playing this game (in its current state) if SE said tomorrow "We will not be updating this game anymore, but we will leave the servers up"? As long as the servers are up I'll play
7) Of all the expansions, which one do you regard as the best, and why? dunno haven't gotten through them all yet, CoP is fun though
8) If you won a competition to change one thing in FFXI what would it be?
either greatly lower the xp loss or get rid of it for death
9) Same as question 8, but you had the ability to add one thing in FFXI what would it be? have a savings account like a bank so you can earn interest up to "x" amount of gil by just having your gil in that "bank account"

- I started playing shortly after the NA release. Played up until Mid-07 and quit. However, I am back and starting from scratch.
2) When you started playing FFXI, did you have a specific job in mind, and if so did you ever complete said job?
-First time: As a nOOb I remember looking at the manual and picking DRG. After getting to 30, it was my first job I picked. I leveled up to 40'ish. Moved to NIN b/c of LS reasons. Leveled it to 75, never really liked it though. After NIN I found myself back to DRG and leveled it to 75. Most of which was solo'ed. It was my first and fav. job.
Second time - you guessed it. Just opened DRG and now leveling my blu sub.
During my time - a saying was prevalent... "Once a Dragoon - Always a Dragoon". And that applies to me
3) Is that job still as loved now as it was back when you wanted to become one?
Yes. It is. I loved it during the good times and during the bad times. Back then, DRG was the most disliked DD's there was. I solo'ed from 40's almost all the way to 60 or 65. HB is great. Very versital job.
4) What one event/moment during your playing time will you regard as the highlight of your time spent playing FFXI?
Finishing CoP back then. I was not a fan of the CoP missions to be honest. But, having it finished added a great sense of accomplishment.
5) Same as question 4, but this time the low point of your time spent playing FFXI?
Ingame: CoP mission grind and Omega.
6) How long can you see yourself playing this game (in its current state) if SE said tomorrow "We will not be updating this game anymore, but we will leave the servers up"?
Well - a long while. With me just starting back. I'll be occupied for several years.
7) Of all the expansions, which one do you regard as the best, and why?
Treasures has to be my pick. Added a lot of content for ppl. that was weary of the Sky farming/Sky Gods/Sky Farming routine.
8) If you won a competition to change one thing in FFXI what would it be?
There is a LOT I would want to change. But - settling on one would be drop rates. Claiming a NM is hard enough. But to have it drop nothing is devastating. 100% drop rate.
9) Same as question 8, but you had the ability to add one thing in FFXI what would it be?
Graphical overall. Major graphical overall.
10) Name one Lakshmi player would you regard as a celebrity?
Jangula I suppose. I was always envious of his gear.

Since PS2 release! First game I ever pre-ordered. I lost my character, Shiromiro around late 2005 due to a lost e-mail account and forgotten POL password. I've played on and off on a new account since then. I'd probably say about 400 days.

Black Mage. Massive death and wanton destruction was my art form, and the dark arts was my brush and palette. Never got to finish it due to my character loss.

The founding of CantaPerMe, my SOLE linkshell since I started.

The day I found out my character was lost forever. I honestly threw up.

That all depends on how long my linkshell members stay on. They're my life.

HA! I died halfway through Chains, and missed out on ToAU and Goddess. But CoP's storyline was epik. With a k. A Jewish k.

The entire crafting system. Including reverting fishing back to it's original state. That or toning down the difficulty of soloing another half click.

I'd have to agree that automated chocobo paths would be kind of nice. And it's all I can legitimately think of that isn't too unrealistic.

About 4 and a half years give or take started when a friend got the game and 3 of us were on same account i ended up staying they never lol.

First job i was going to get to 75 was orginally my Paladin but somewhere somehow i've slipped and now my first 75 is WHM with NIN @68 *almost 69 god damn falling in love with other jobs >_> i will get back to Hixxi soon so i can finally get to 75 on him*
3) Is that job still as loved now as it was back when you wanted to become one?
I do still very much love Paladin but my RNG will become 75 before it lol
4) What one event/moment during your playing time will you regard as the highlight of your time spent playing FFXI?
Getting Sky with EurostarLS my first Godls wish we had never broken up it was awesome going from ZM1>ZM13 in oneday esp when we did BC fight in Den of Rancor i took an insane everyones rancor to the face lol *god damn us for having max hate on tonberrys lol*, then sitting on Genbu's platform looking out onto the world was an oh shi moment for how amazing it looked and felt.

Watching Koun Elite die was one of the single greatest LS's out there with people such as Tempusdezire/Lumikumi/Tcb/Isengard and the rest all leave as tempy left our server we made a new home but for some reason it just didn't feel the same ever again :'(
6) How long can you see yourself playing this game (in its current state) if SE said tomorrow "We will not be updating this game anymore, but we will leave the servers up"?
Prob for a while yet i took a yr break cause my mum was dying and even said i wouldnt come back but what a surprise im back lol

It's really a toss up for me i love both CoP and ZM for their storylines.

Started out as RDM, knew nothing about it at the time but thought it seemed cool, never completed it, its currently sitting at Lv37
3) Is that job still as loved now as it was back when you wanted to become one?
After descovering the role of RDM in partys I decided it wasnt for me, so no.
4) What one event/moment during your playing time will you regard as the highlight of your time spent playing FFXI?
Getting my Wyrm Armet, Thank you Vexforever.

Anytime a good friend quits.

1) How long have you been playing FFXI for (and playtime if possible)? November 2003. Not much game time, since I quit a couple times, deleted my character, and switched servers (ironically, about 2 months before they let us move characters between servers). I only get to play a couple hours a week, but I still love this game.
2) When you started playing FFXI, did you have a specific job in mind, and if so did you ever complete said job? Paladin. I played it as a good little turtle for a while and it wasn't very much fun. Gave it a second try when I started playing again, and I love it now that it's more balanced.
3) Is that job still as loved now as it was back when you wanted to become one? More so.
4) What one event/moment during your playing time will you regard as the highlight of your time spent playing FFXI? When I went to the jungles the first time and made some terrible mistakes, someone took me aside and politely explained to me what I was doing wrong and how to fix it, even pointed me to Allakhazam. That was above and beyond what most players would've done and definitely changed my approach to the game.
5) Same as question 4, but this time the low point of your time spent playing FFXI? A few bad parties, but nothing worth repeating or remembering.
6) How long can you see yourself playing this game (in its current state) if SE said tomorrow "We will not be updating this game anymore, but we will leave the servers up"? A very long time. I'm the world's slowest leveler, so I can't see it affecting me.

January of 2004, so 5 years and 3 months. Playtime: 546 days. Grossly swollen by all my overnight bazaaring and leaving my char logged in while away out of laziness.

DRG or SAM. As my sig attests, I've managed both.
3) Is that job still as loved now as it was back when you wanted to become one?
Yes and no. When I first joined, Meditate was instant 100% TP and DRG was god of Pentaspam. The TP nerf made DRG nearly reviled for the entire time I was exping it and a good while after. ToAU merits and recent mechanics/JA adjustments mean now everyone loves DRG and SAM.
4) What one event/moment during your playing time will you regard as the highlight of your time spent playing FFXI?
Completing CoP before the difficulty got toned down with an all-linkshell roleplayed static. Yes, that's right, non-gimp RPers who can prep and execute strategies. Hell of a lot of fun.

70-75 DRG. l.o.l.DRG was at its peak and my static had broken so NOBODY would invite me. I believe at one point I spent 3 days near continuously LFP, punctuated only by classes, meals, and sleep. I did get a lot of classwork and reading done though!

That is 100% a matter of how long my friends stick around so I can't say with any precision.

CoP. Amazing story, actually challenging fights, new areas, cool armor... None of the others compare, in my opinion.

Ground kings. Not sure exactly how, I'm certain I could cull a good change out of the many floating around on the internets. But when you have over 100 people crammed into a laggy, sweltering pit, all frothing and in some instances circumventing game mechanics to be the first to snatch a monster that may or may not drop something they want... And spend 3 hours for the privilege, something has gone wrong.

If you asked me two years ago, I would have said the ability to visit moghouses. Now? ...I don't really know honestly. Chairs? The ability to sit in them? Persistent 'posture' emotes? Duels? Beats me.

Since late November, 2003 - playtime of 562 days. (which admitted is probably 50% standing around doing nothing)

For DRG, even more so then it was. THF, absolutely not.
4) What one event/moment during your playing time will you regard as the highlight of your time spent playing FFXI?
Oh god, no idea - the recent 1/1 ACP win comes to mind (I was the last one standing, barely made it), though passing on a wyrm armet for a friend, and then somehow beating a 960 lot for the next one to drop (about 30 minutes later) comes to mind as well.
5) Same as question 4, but this time the low point of your time spent playing FFXI?
Throwing hedgehog bomb at Ramuh Prime. Missing. Yeah.
6) How long can you see yourself playing this game (in its current state) if SE said tomorrow "We will not be updating this game anymore, but we will leave the servers up"?
Ages - there's still a whole lot of jobs I want to level.
7) Of all the expansions, which one do you regard as the best, and why?
While I admit ToAU added the most as far as usefulness goes, I absolutely love CoP (even if it took me forever to beat it).
8) If you won a competition to change one thing in FFXI what would it be?
For no synths under your craft level to break - I don't even craft much anymore and this still aggravates the hell out of me.
9) Same as question 8, but you had the ability to add one thing in FFXI what would it be?
Wyvern pet commands, probably.
10) Name one Lakshmi player would you regard as a celebrity?
I always regarded Jangula very highly, and oddly, Profile as well (I think it was because I was struggling with clothcraft, and Profile was 99.something), though these days the only people who come to mind are celebrities for being jackasses.
Since late November, 2003 - playtime of 562 days. (which admitted is probably 50% standing around doing nothing)
