The Supreme Court has declined to hear appeals on five cases involving same-sex marriage. As a result, the lower court ruling in those states will stand and Utah, Oklahoma, Indiana, Virgina and Wisconsin will all have full marriage rights for same sex couples. Sounds like a pretty big punt since most people expected them to take on the cases and the court instead giving de facto approval to same sex marriage in those states.
[edit: I know that there's other nuances but only felt like typing so much]
