Looks like a huge quake, and not very deep either. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/usc000f1s0#summary

Anyone near there or Hawaii, find high ground! Us west coast types should probably find our wader boots too...

No tsunami predicted.

But I'll PM you if our tsunami sirens go off. ;)

A tsunami has been confirmed in areas near the epicenter, but it should not affect Hawaii, experts say.

This will be the final statement from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center unless additional data is received.

As the center has been washed away by the other tsunami they failed to notice.

Oh sure, the old "update the text so hawaii isn't getting obliterated anymore right after Kao posts!" trick. I see how it is. You win this round USGS!

I suggest floaties in case you're on camera. Maybe something with ducks.

Oh hey, someone else here that's from Hawaii? o_o

But yeah, nothing happened here... I live next to one of those blasted sirens too, so the only way I'd miss one would be by going deaf... and if that happened it could possibly be because of one of those sirens. There is some cruel irony in that somewhere...

Don't be ashamed of it, your husband probably married you for your freaky side anyway. Smiley: blush

Should be about time to start becoming claustrophobic.
