For more specifics, here is the Bipartisan Framework for Comprehensive Immigration Reform but forth by the Senate (there are four pillars).
I'm all for getting more tax-paying peeps legally into the country - base broadening and all that. The concern of some is that this so-called amnesty may draw in more additional illegal immigrants (presumably there was in increase in illegal immigrants after 1986 amnesty deal).
Is this proposal passable, doable, and will it make for a better immigration system?
