Hostess wanted an 8% wage cut this year, ramping up to a 27% overall cut five years from now. The now ex-employee said he'll miss the job he had before, but he sure as hell won't miss the job they were going to give him. If he's only going to make $20,000 a year as a truck driver, it wasn't going to be for "those @#%^s."

Hostess bought out one of the larger bakeries here, JJ Nissans, a decade or so ago. The message from the striking employees from the beginning has never been one of negotiation or compromise. They wanted Hostess gone with the hope that someone else would buy the Nissan bakeries.
