I had to google, not the worst of choices that's for sure.

Johnson holds fiscally conservative, socially tolerant views,[76] and a philosophy of limited government[77] and military noninterventionism.[78][79] As well as a libertarian, he has often identified as a classical liberal.[80] Johnson is in favor of simplifying and reducing taxes.[81] During his governorship, Johnson cut taxes fourteen times and never increased them.[82] Due to his stance on taxes, political pundit David Weigel described him as "the original Tea Party candidate".[83] Johnson supports balancing the federal budget immediately.[84] He supports "slashing government spending", including Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security.[81] His plans include cutting Medicare and Medicaid by 43 percent and turning them into block grant programs, with control of spending in the hands of the states to create "fifty laboratories of innovation".[84] He advocates passing a law allowing for state bankruptcy and expressly ruling out a federal bailout of any states.[77] Johnson has expressed opposition to the Federal Reserve System, which he cites as massively devaluing the strength of the U.S. dollar, and would sign legislation to eliminate it. He otherwise supports an audit of the central bank, and urged Members of Congress in July 2012 to vote in favor of Ron Paul's Federal Reserve Transparency Act.[85]

In his campaign for the Libertarian Party nomination, he stated he opposed foreign wars and pledged to cut the military budget by 43 percent in his first budget as president.[79] He would cut the military's overseas bases, uniformed and civilian personnel, research and development, intelligence, and nuclear weapons programs.[86][87] He is opposed to the United States' involvement in the War in Afghanistan and the Libyan Civil War.[88] He has stated that he does not believe Iran is a military threat, would use his presidential power to prevent Israel from attacking Iran, and would not follow Israel, or any other ally, into a war that it had initiated.[89]

Johnson is a strong supporter of civil liberties and received the highest score of any candidate from the American Civil Liberties Union for supporting drug decriminalization and having a pro-choice stance on abortion, while opposing censorship and regulation of the Internet, the Patriot Act, enhanced airport screenings, and the indefinite detention of prisoners.[90] Johnson endorsed same-sex marriage in 2011;[91] he has since called for a constitutional amendment protecting equal marriage rights,[91] and criticized President Obama's position on the issue as to have "thrown this question back to the states."

I am talking about him. You brought up Obama cannibalizing infants and I'm asking you about them.

Man, if you're going to be so unwilling to discuss your own talking points, you should stop using them Smiley: disappointed

Not a major fan of his stance on the military, but otherwise he isn't bad. Also saw him bungee jump at a state fair once. That was kinda cool.

It isn't racist to acknowledge that the white man kept the black man enslaved for two hundred years or more in the Americas, kept him down, poor, and disenfranchised until well into the 20th century, and that we're still battling generations of inbred hatred, distrust, and denial as a result of that sordid past.

It's called living in American reality.

Two thoughts:
First, Obama would eat that Republican baby only after it was deep fried and served with a side order of collard greens and watermelon for dessert. Just sayin'. He's gotta represent, ya know, his ethnic side.

Secondly, Catho, blacks were enslaving blacks long before whites and Arabs got around to using them for cotton pickin', shuffle dancing, and inspiring Al Jolson vaudeville routines. Only those blacks don't consider themselves blacks, they think of themselves as Hutu or Swahili, or Tutsis. To listen to guilty conscience striken white people, Americans practically invented slavery, rather than acknowledging that it is a scourge which has plagued mankind since the dawn of time even to this day. So get over it. It's over, done, fini, no more, and every other word which denotes finality. Give the whole "Oh woe is the present day black person for his kind have suffered SO much!" That is a reverse form of racism where you excuse every thing about them and strip them of their dignity by relieving them of any responsibility for their lives. Imagine if you did that to your kids. They'd never leave the house or your care since you void any kind of ambition or results from their actions.

Thirdly-- yes, I know I said I only had two points --if you can't recognise the first point is satire and the second is serious commentary, then, yes, you should vote for Obama since you have proven you lack critical thinking skills. Best of luck to you. You'll need it in life.

You're reading an awful lot of right-wing rhetoric into that one factually correct little statement by catwho.

Overcompensate much?

Not at all. If I overcompensate, it would be in my tendency to empathize with others' plights. Regardless the persona I project here on this and other boards, my instinct is to see the world through the eyes of the person I am trying to understand.

However, Catho's statement baldly taken would suggest that our blacks have somehow been given greater obstacles and difficulties than blacks from other regions of the world. Yet, as a man who has traveled the world extensively, lived in Africa, the Middle East, and various places of interest in Central Asia, I can firmly attest to the view that many, if not most blacks from elsewhere subscribe to, which is that Americans, black, white, yellow, red, and all the shades inbetween have life pretty good and would gladly trade their existence for even the most destitute of inner city blacks.

Furthermore, if you cannot appreciate that last sentence for the sheer obviousness of it, then that tells me you haven't moved or lived in those circles. Because to them, a little racism for what there is in the United States, pales in comparison to the overwhelming violence and misery which surrounds them on a daily basis-- you know, the kind of trouble which involves being macheted to death, raped until dead, children forced to point a gun at their mother and pull the trigger, being accused of witchery and turning your neighbors into monkeys, having sex with newborns because you believe it cures AIDS, bathing in the blood of rival tribes thinking it renders you impervious to bullets, knives, and roadside bombs.

At the risk of minimizing our collective past, the complaints of blacks and those championing their problems smacks of the teenage girl bitterly complaining about the injustice befalling her when her parents take her cell phone away for bad grades. Trust not me, but the millions of blacks who have experienced real problems and carry on anyway. Racism?!? Pffft, if only they had such tiny problems.
