Let us know what you think of Brave there Lolgaxe. I am debating if I should pay the dough to go see it in theaters or wait till it comes out on FX or a similar channel.
It wasn't bad, but I wouldn't advice seeing it if not as a family outing type deal. Worth the money that way, and maybe as a date movie if you're trying to impress your girlfriend. I wouldn't suggest it as a movie to go see by yourself, though. The story is pretty basic and fairly easy to predict, and the brogue made my daughter think they were talking a different language for like the first five minutes. It's really cute, though. It's pretty standard Disney. Child/teen who isn't enjoying life in some manner or the other, parents suffer in some manner as well both in the past and currently. If anything, Merida's hair is
really well animated. The whole movie was well animated, but her hair in particular was exceptional.
Anyway, my wife cried happily at the end, my daughter laughed and cheered and really liked the triplets, and I liked the little jokes that were thrown in for adults that had to go see it with their children. The fight scenes were amusing. Oh, and Fergus (
the dad), I really liked him. Also, the La Luna short before the movie started was amusing for my wife because the dad looked remarkably like
my dad and she almost fell out of the chair laughing.
Couple of the previews looked interesting, too. I know there's a short thread on Wreck-it Ralph in the TV Forum, but Hotel Transylvania looked interesting as well, along with The Hobbit. And Despicable Me 2's preview made me laugh. I liked the first one, so I'm all for a sequel though I usually dread them. Those were the
three four that caught my attention that wasn't a preview to Amazing Spider-Man.
