Perhaps from a government stand point, but I end up running across more weird news from Florida than I do from just about any other state.

I'm still ticked off about Tuscon getting rid of their Ethnic Studies classes in their secondary schools, because they were afraid it would incite racial tension when you teach Latino/as that they're oppressed. Smiley: rolleyes

Arizona's Secretary of State is now saying "I'm not sayin' I'm a Birther, I'm just sayin' that all the evidence so far including Obama's long form birth certificate hasn't convinced me that he's eligible to be on the AZ ballot as a naturally born US citizen..."

So... was he on the ballot in Arizona in 2008?

I would imagine so.

I don't think people made as big of a deal about it in 2008, because they didn't think he'd win. Now that he's already President, they care because they don't want him to stay there.

Well, yes. Always nice to hear from Captain Obvious.

My point is, if he was allowed on the ballot in 2008 then how are they going to justify disallowing him now? Seems like that horse is well out of the barn. It's not like his place of birth has changed.

He's since backpedaled with some "I was just saying that my constituents are asking and I haven't gotten a definite answer from Hawaii if he was born there" retardation. Because, you know, it's not as though Hawaiian officials went on the record during the 2008 election.

Of course, classic Birther "proof" is to keep shotgunning the same questions over and over and over to people until they finally say "What? Get lost already" and then crow about how you never got the answer you demanded so you must be on to something.

I'd give it about 10-15 years before every other southern state is just as bad as Florida, and Florida itself evolves into its final form.

It also works for establishing that marriage has to be all about manufacturing naturally born children because no one else has ever given an alternate reason ever Smiley: thumbsup

Hey, you leave me out of this! Besides, it would never get through all those casinos on the Mississippi Gulf coast.
