The San Diego Fair (originally the Del Mar Fair) has released the vendors with their crazy foods. Like last year, I am planning on trying as many as I can. Now, what am I going to try?

• Meat Lovers Hot Dog on a Stick (deep-fried, beer-battered, bacon-wrapped hot dog)
• Baconshrooms (deep-fried, bacon-wrapped mushrooms)
• Half Pound Meat-On-Meat Dog (quarter-pound, all-beef dog wrapped with a quarter-pound of bacon)
• Porky Poppers (bacon-wrapped stuffed jalapeños)

• Chicken Fried Steak on a stick/mashed potatoes with Country-style sausage gravy
• French Fries with country-style gravy
• Deep-Fried Chili Asteroid: Award-winning homemade chili & cheese, deep-fried in a hush-puppy batter
• Flying Saucer Sopés: Deep-fried tortilla cake, topped with homemade chili, cheese, sour cream and green onions
• French Toast sticks with syrup dipping sauce
• Pie Fries: Deep-fried pie crust strips with strawberry preserves on the side
• Deep-Fried Tang
Pignotti's Pasta near O'Brien Hall and the Skyway:
• Bacon Pasta on a plate or in a bread bowl
• Bread Bowls (fill them with pasta or antipasto salad)
This is just a sampling of what's being offered. But I do believe that I will have to try the Pie Fries and everything from the Bacon-A-Fair.
I need to have a check up with my doctor before and after I do this.
