I use FedEx for document shipping and UPS for items. Generally speaking if I know there is a chance that my package will turn up when I am not home I will call up UPS and have them drop the item off by my backdoor. Both of my neighbors are rarely home and I trust them regardless. Having a nature reserve like thing behind the house does help a bit for keeping unwanted eyes out of my backyard (Also a 5 foot steep drop on the other side of my fence certainly helps also Smiley: tongue).

I'm still mystified as to how the driver manage to deliver to the wrong place two days in a row. I have to assume it was the same person and he/she just went to where they went yesterday and didn't double check anything. It just seems strange because I know that when I go somewhere and the person I'm meeting isn't there, my first thought is to make sure I'm in the right place. You'd also think that people who's job is to deliver stuff to addresses would become reasonably good at it. I get that this can sometimes be difficult, especially when dealing with multi-unit complexes, but in my complex each block of units has their own street address and each unit has its own number (the numbers don't repeat through the whole complex though, so it should be really really easy to find the right one). The street address number for my block of units is on the side of the balcony right above my door. Literally as you walk up to my door, if you look up you'll see it. You can easily see it driving around the complex, so I'm not sure how a delivery person could miss it, not once, but twice.

My gut says it's because they rely on a GPS system too much. The machine points out where to drop the package, so they do it no questions asked and don't even think it might be wrong.

We've always had problems getting packages delivered, thanks to the way our house address is (odd number house on the even side of the street). Trying to use something like google to get driving directions starts us off about a mile from where our house is actually located. I did get upset the last time I had something sent to me. Got a notice, in the mail, that nobody was around on the delivery date which was total BS since there were 3 of us at home all day long. Had to drive out to he depot to pick up the package, following the instructions on the notice they mailed. Showed up and was given the run-around for about 45 minutes because they seemed confused. I finally ended up at the guard shack to pick up the package after being sent to several other places around the complex.

Some banks and mortgage companies have become notorious over the past several years for sending paperwork late, or not sending it at all, and then penalizing the mortgage holder for not returning it in time. I'd check out your mortgage company as well as the delivery paperwork, as Joph said.

Once in a while it hits me that I might be slightly out of touch. Why wouldn't you have this stuff sent to your attorney? Who would, then, of course leave the mortgage company in a pile of smoldering rubble if they didn't send the paperwork on time? Why wouldn't you add a timeframe clause to the initial loan commitment? Do people really buy houses like they were getting a payday loan?

******* poors, they're such a mess. Instead of Legal Aid/Bar Advocates focusing on criminal cases, they need to a division who acts as asshloe personal lawyers for the poors. The government should pay, of course. This is going to be big problem when these poors start looking for summer homes...

Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.
