watcha doing?
I'm going to try and get the bulk of holiday shopping done this weekend, hopefully get a new phone upgrade, and game a bit. Xavier starts his track out which means until the new year I will have all three boys home. Note to self: stock up on Brandy before you pick the child up from school. I also have to start prepping for next weekends birthday party for Ashe. He's turning 5 next week Smiley: eek How the hell did THAT happen?

Final swimming lesson for the kids, for their current level, on Sat morning. Saturday evening is a pot luck Christmas thingy at my brother's house. Sunday is the office Christmas party for employees' children.

I'm headed to work, which will likely involve hitting a particular file server with a particular sledge hammer because it is being annoying at the moment...

Don't think we have anything on the docket, as far as I can remember. Probably some miscellaneous chores and errands.

Sunday, I'm hoping to get my "fiance's team" (it's essentially my 2nd team) into the fantasy playoffs. I've already clinched, so getting 2 teams into the 4 team playoff would be big. I'm hoping I can snag the 1st and 2nd place payouts, thereby pissing off everyone else in the league.

Drink(s) after work to say farewell to a long-time co-worker.

...and yeah, christmas shopping and baking and stuff. bleh. I suppose it's time to dig out the decorations.

I think I'm going to rent Winnie-the-pooh and watch it, in the dark, all-by-myself with a cup of hot cocoa and a blankie.

I'm a bit stumped on what to get my kid for x-mas. He's 23 and roughly equivalent to you nerds in likes, demeanor etc. His PS3 zapped out on him a couple weeks ago when we lost power. I could get him a new one. But, him and his gf are planning on moving out this summer. She's got wii games as her family has a console, so I could get him a wii (then I'd have til summer to play Zelda). Furthermore, he's been carrying a trak-phone, it also just died recently (won't take a charge). So, I could get him a new phone - something a bit more fancy (but he doesn't want a phone-plan). He also said he wouldn't mind a little tablet like the Kindle Fire or Nook. Nook just now posted on FB about some new graphic novels that were just released for the Nook Color/table - they look pretty cool and he loves his comic books and backwards anime graphic novels. I've already got him a subscription to AAA cuz his car is a pos (is this worthless if he has no cell-phone?) and I'm repairing/cleaning a really, cool old winter coat he picked up at the Good Will.

Going to my dad's place tonight, Sinterklaas tomorrow afternoon and a party tomorrow night. More hanging out with the same lovely lady as the last two weeks at the party and Sunday will likely consist of sleeping in and ******* around on the internet.

Almost all of my holiday shopping is already done, so I'll be running some errands, doing laundry, cleaning up the apartment, and playing a lot of Skyrim.

Speaking of Skyrim (it's on my Steam wishlist so I'm sure I'll be playing it ANY DAY NOW), I was playing Oblivion and thought "Man, once I'm done here I should try a mage type character. It'll be awesome; I can whip some a bunch of magic gear with this character and... umm... God damn it..."

That's what MMORPGs will do to ya.

Ill be working for the most part, Saturday is a half day because the plant is hosting a kids christmas party and will be shutdown for safety reasons (you know in case a kid wonders off onto the production floor and gets squashed by a truck frame or something). So Saturday I think I am going to play some final fantasy for a whole night. I haven't been able to sit on Final Fantasy for long periods of time in a long *** time.

although that will change if Square Enix does port it to the Play Station Vita, in which case move aside mario 3d land (which has been insanely fun but getting staleish).

Also According to face book I will die in a murder incident in New York on Dec. 13 2013. likely at the hand of Gaxe for trying to schmooze with his daughter (age is irrelevant I am telling a story). According to a survey done I will survive 1 year in the zombie Apocalypse, Given the streaky predictions of ones death I figure +/- a week is more than fair.

So Im putting 5 bucks down that the zombie Apocalypse begins on or around Dec 21/2012. So lets break out the Countdown Clock!

385 days to go!

Nothing on my schedule really. I do have to replace handles for both my hatchet and maul, and then there's the 45-foot tree that I felled the other day and now need to do something with. Which will probably come down to sectioning off and stacking somewhere; in a year or two that'll be a full cord of good firewood.

Tonight: Just brow-beating Ray into finishing up his class work. End of the semester papers and studying for final exams, etc.

Tomorrow: Volunteering at the courthouse to clean up outdated files and whatnot. The court system is so under-budget that a lot of legal secretaries and paralegals donate time to help the court clerks get finish up stuff that has been put off.

Balboa Park in San Diego is having their annual December Nights festival, which is one of the largest community holiday festivals in the nation. It's family tradition every year to go. We just have to brave the parking (they expect about 300,000 over the weekend) and traffic to join the crowds.

Sunday: Brow-beating Ray into doing finishing his papers so he can start studying for finals.

Depends on how long you need your cord to be. As long as it's not more than 45 feet :)

Speaking of, it's supposed to actually be decent this weekend so I'm going to be burning the last of the leaves and cleaning out the gutters. The former being a lot more entertaining than the latter.

I'm somewhat perturbed that there are apparently no dragons in Oblivion, though I'm still only level 3 and hunting rats and bandits.

Sure can. Smiley: smile The trunk is about two feet thick for most of its length, and there's a sizeable branch, about a foot thick, ten feet long near the top. This is just what I felled; the top half of the tree came down on its own a month ago and I've already split most of that. So, allowing for gaps in the stack, the whole tree is about a cord of split logs and a few ******* of leafy brush.
