Happy Thanksgiving!

So, what are everyone's plans?

Thanksgiving: Starting at around lunch time, I will have a bazillion people drift in and out of my home eating turducken, ham, turkey, assorted side dishes and Filipino food.

Friday: Putting the house back to sorts after Thanksgiving and catching up on TV shows I've missed.

Saturday and Sunday: Grocery shopping and checking off my to-do list.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wednesday night: Zoo lights open. Taking the little ones to see the sparkles and the animals.

Thursday: Nothing for a while, then family and friends get-together in the evening. After that I put the kids to bed while the Mrs. goes deal-hunting.

Friday: Eventually the Mrs. comes back from her all-nighter and I watch kids while she sleeps.

I have no idea about the weekend yet. Other than watching some football in there... Smiley: lol

We're driving to Maine on Thursday morning, where I assume there will be snow, as it's after August. Once there Hannah will announce that I've ruined Nexa with my demon seed and that she'll soon be disgorging my angry spawn.

So that'll be nice.

I'm just happy to have survived today. It was hell morning. My husband left for work in the wee hours of the morning before we had too much snow. I got up at 7am to about 6 inches of slop. Then the power went out.

Then my kid gets up and has to go to work, so attempts to plow out the driveway. Instead he ended up putting the truck in the ditch. The neighbor comes over to help but to no avail. My husband returns home and is a dick to my son which pisses off the neighber.

Sigh, I gave the neighbor some whoopie pies (he liked that), let the kid beat me a cribbage and the power came back. I think everything is smoothed over though I never made it to work.

About 1 1/2 weeks into TES V: Skyrim (loving it) so I'll be staying up way too late playing it for quite some time.

Doing the 3-hour drive to my parents' house in Yardley, PA for Thanksgiving...and will have to get back on the road maybe an hour or so after the dinner as I can't leave my beasties home alone overnight. I don't need them running out the doggie door and barking like crazy at a wild critter in the middle of the night - my neighbors would have us all put down. Hopefully, I can grab a catnap to sleep off the tryptophan effects before heading home.

Friday - lunch date with a really cute gal. Then more Skyrim!!

Saturday - Walking the beasties, Skyrim and more Skyrim!!

Sunday - Walking the beasties, final lawn mowing/leaf cleanup of the year, laundry and more Skyrim!!

Oh - also got into the weekend beta for the new Star Wars mmo - I'll probably spend a little time in there, too. Hoping to not like the game much as I'm pretty tied up in WoW and Skyrim is already distracting me away from WoW....then Diablo 3 may be coming out at some point this winter...so there's that.

Lol! I'm curious which one of them has the hippy parents and which one has the former CIA operative parent(s). Should film the whole weekend and make some cash while they're at it.

I wish it was Friday, or Sunday rather. Yay for another date with the same girl as last week on Sunday. Last week's dat went very well, better than either of us expected so fun times ahead for Sunday. Smiley: smile
My sister and her boyfriend are also visiting Sunday to look at my new kitty so busy day Sunday and nothing else planned for the rest of the weekend.
Sadly, my weekend won't start until Friday late afternoon, which I'm not very pleased about.

Friday would have been my day off anyways due to my schedule, so I get today off too! I am making pie at the moment. I was going to bake it in a square pan, but I forgot to (pi R squared...) Tonight the turkey goes into the brine, then tomorrow the madness starts! I'm hosting again, so lots of prep work, etc. Next house I buy will have a tiny 1 person dining room...

It decided to rain more than usual today. we're looking at 3 inches of rainfall in the past 2 days, possibly hitting 5. Soo, the rivers may flood, and if so, given who I work for for other job, I may get called in for emergancy operations center duties at any minute. Which also sucks because it pays no more than ordinary work.

Been looking at video card sales, so far I haven't seen any, so I'll probably ignore black friday madness.

Saturday I get to go in and swap out a server for a chassis that doesn't have strange and unnatural issues. That could be amusing.

Sunday, I shall eat a turkey sandwich.

Hah! My family rotates where we host various holiday feasts, and I manage to skate out on the "my place isn't big enough for everyone!" bit every time. To be fair, my place really isn't big enough for everyone (8+ adults and 7+ kids minimum), but it's a terrifically good excuse!

Well, I was supposed to work until 7 am today, but my day shift counterpart came in early and let me get some sleep so that I could 'do' Thanksgiving with my family.

James, you won't read this, but thank you.

Holas :)

I'll be (once again) telling every other family member that I am too sick to go anywhere and staying home and playing Call of Duty. (Maybe order some Chinese later).

Good to see you're still alive, Kelvy Smiley: smile
Turkey is in the oven, garlic soup is simmering (oh yum!), brie will be melting into delicious goodness soon, and the wine will be opened and downed.
Tomorrow my mom is taking the three boys to her house for the weekend. Sick and I may do some holiday shopping, will try to sleep in, and enjoy solitude until we get bored and wonder what the hell we used to do without kids. It always happens

Ohh, that sounds good too. I bet blueberries would also work well. I've never tried them though.
