I follow @God_Damn_Batman, which in itself is worth having an account.

I also follow friends, family, @Marvel, and people I stalk comic artist/writers.

Since Nexa insists that we can't hire a brown skinned fellow to care for the yard at the new place, I'll probably be dealing with the leaf apocalypse near one of our trees. Good news we only have a few trees near the lawn, bad news - one it like 900 feet tall. and bulletproof

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.

I don't participate in these threads too much because I don't have much of a life. But last night, our office paid for tickets to see Wicked. It was just as good as when I saw it last year. I cry at "Defying Gravity" every time, I'm such a sap.

Today, I ran some errands, mailed some books, bought some dog food. Next I'll drink some whiskey and play some WoW. Tomorrow and Sunday I'll sit around my house and think of things that I could do that are more productive while I watch A&E and TLC.

Apparently, I got volunteered to help a friend move on Saturday, so that's what I'm doing. Hopefully, the rain will let up by then, or it will such. Either way, will probably spend that evening recovering with a vodka beverage.

Sunday will probably involve yelling at the Chargers to some degree, then game night. Apparently, there are some trolls, and they've been very bad.

I picked up Uncharted 3, so that's more or less my weekend. I may stop to sleep at some point, I haven't decided yet.

Usually the usher will seat you, but I'm not sure it matters so much anymore. However, the bride stands at the left side (as you're facing the alter) so I would assume the left side. I honestly am not sure...

I actually have a busy weekend, sort of. I played a show tonight in Market Square and it got weird. The act that followed me was a lecture on how to tell if you have a ghost in your house and how to make them go away. According to the lady, sea salt and ghosts do not mix. The headliner ended up being... well, interesting. He played and sang well, but all of his "original" songs seemed to be mostly stolen melody. Met a few nice people and one hell of a saxophone player. A friend of mine got a bit of it on video, I'll try to post it if I remember.

Tomorrow, I'm going to a day-long LAN with a few friends. Going to be great, if my mouse will hold up. Sunday, I have my usual Sunday gig at the pizza place down the road. Think I'll wake up at noon.

I've had Data phones for longer than most people have had cell phones. You get used to calling them PDA phones after a few years and its a hard habit to break.

Turns out the correct answer was "the left side" I of course managed to sit on the right side.

The friday update threads tend to go in cycles. I don't know why. I suspect it has to do with the allignment of neptune and galactic cluster 428-sigma 3.

I've got a wedding to attend later today. Took the day off for the heck of it too, which has been nice. Gave me time to finish installing this little gem:

Screenshot

Which is a honeywell Prestige 2.0 programmable thermostat. It also has a remote control, so i can actually change the stupid thermostat settings from upstaris on those nights when the stupid thermostat insists on going on and off a billion times, keeping me up when it isn't rrealy needed.

Also this weekend i'll be finishing the Z axis for the limit switch mounting for the mill. I think I know what I am going to do now, which should make it easier. I also aquirewd a small sheet metal brake so I can make some enclosure panels for some of the exposed machinery that would be difficult to cover with bellows.
How hard is it to change out a thermostat? I mean to a new type one? I'd like a programmable one (I don't need one that fancy) but I don't want to pay an actual electrician to come in.

Oh, I'm not doing much this weekend, but this week, I got a promotion at work. It's a ****-ton more responsibility, about 2 bucks more an hour, and kinda more fun. I am absolutely psyched!

Changing a thermostat is pretty easy. It's already powered so you just cut electricity to the room, take the old one off, attach the three wires to the new one, pop the battery in if it uses one as a backup, attach to wall, flip on the power and you're good.

I went from one of those old round thermostats with the mercury switch inside to an electronic one and it was probably less than a half hour's work.

And congratulations on the new job!

Kao, most wedding couples would be pleased you actually showed up to the ceremony even if you sat up at the altar. Too many people blow it off and just hit the reception for the party.

So the programmable ones don't need special wires or anything?

And thank you for the grats on the promotion. TBH, I'm nervous, but rationally, I think I'll do fine.

Nope, it's pretty easy. In a two-wire system, you'll just connect the red wire to R or RH and the white to W. If you have AC running off it too, it depends on how your system is set up, but typically you'll do green to G, red to RH (jumped to RC), white to W, yellow to Y.

I'm working through the mountain of laundry that piled up during the power outage. I normally do laundry on Sundays, but we had no power last Sunday, so now I have two weeks worth to do, bleh. I may work in a nap somewhere.

Yeah, apperently in houses built after 1970, the wiring for thermostats is all standardized. This particular thermostat also requires a wire to C to deliver power to the display itself. Without the wiring snafu I ran into it took me about 2 minutes to install the first time, then another 3 minutes to fix the wiring. Installation and setup was really easy. I have a fairly simple heater setup, 1 heating stage, one cooling stage, so i was able to use pretty much all the default settings. Higher efficiency multi-stage units would have a bit more setup, but its basically a matter of looking up whatever heater and AC unit you own and determining if you have different heat zones, etc. Even if you get those settings wrong, the thing still works and they are easy to change. I do know that other honewell and other manufacturer thermostats are a bit more complicated to set up without the GUI. On those you would typically have to look up setting codes out of a manual and input them.

In the event you are interested in the installation and setup process, here's a video that shows most of the interesting bits. The first minute of the video is relevant, the rest of it is customization and accessories setup.

So I scored a 395 this morning. Whee.

Now I'm downing pain killers like skittles.

Also scored is spelled with an o, not an a.
