Today is supposed to be the day we hit 7 Billion peeps. I've heard that instead of declaring a seven-millionth baby, they're going to give the kudo's to a symbolic baby.
The Symbolic Earth Baby.
There's a little visualization video
here about world population growth. It's pretty obvious stuff, but I liked the colors and the sound of the water plinking.
This video however, makes a claim towards the end that experts predict our population will plateau at around 10billion.
If we were given, say, a lifetime (75-100 years) to find a new world for overflow population, do you think we should pursue creating an independent space-station to call home, or should we attempt to colonize another chunk of rock?
Or...maybe we could create a planet (in a laboratory) or build an addition on to this one.
