So what's on your weekend agenda?

Charmaine's got a shoot all this weekend explaining why cemetaries are safe from zombies. So I'll be on location with her (at a cemetary) for most of this weekend.

Ray's dad is coming into town for a visit on Sunday so in between Charmaine's gig, we'll be cleaning and putting things to sort. Been doing it for the last few weeks so it's the final push.

Well, I got up nice and early this morning to find out that my conference call was cancelled. So I went down to the river to do some training. Got back and just finished mowing the lawn. No work calls for today yet, unless I want to try and find someone down in Nyack to go help setup.

As for the weekend, tomorrow we're either going down to the Bronx Zoo, or to a local lake beach with my brother's family and all the kids. Sunday looks open, so probably spend some time at the playground hurting myself.

But for now...shower time!

We're having some friends over tonight to say good-bye to my husband, who is flying to Hawaii on Friday. I wish I knew when I was going out there, it's going to be hard without him here. Smiley: frown

Tomorrow, I have to take my dog to PetSmart for a training session, then it's back home to keep cleaning out the house to get it ready to sell.

I wanted to tell you I feel your pain! I lived in CA and my BF lived in KY for 3 out of 7 years of our relationship due to different circumstances. When my job transferred me to GA, I was excited because we were only a 6 hour drive, instead of 6 hour flight! He was able to move down to GA shortly after the transfer! Keep your head up and hang in there! I wish you the best of luck!

My weekend is pretty open right now. I just moved (most of my stuff) into my new apartment last weekend, and there's still some stuff to do.

-Need to head back to my parents' to get the rest of my stuff.
-Need to figure out where the heck to PUT all that stuff Smiley: lol
-Need to search for my wireless card. Being without the internet each night this week is making me go stir-crazy...
-Need to buy a few more things; laundry detergent, soap, curtains for my window, etc. Stuff that didn't make the move.

Other than that, I want to get my car to the dealer; it's had the "check engine" light on for a while now, and is just about due for an oil change. As I'm driving it up to MA in a few weeks, I need to be sure it can make it!

I'd also like to get a haircut, and visit the local lake and soak in some sun.

My girlfriend was going to visit, but her plans changed and now we're both busy... so that probably won't happen.

Thanks. Smiley: smile

I'm hoping that the same week our house gets put on the market it sells, and then I get a job that starts Oct. 1st, so I'll have to move that much faster. But I'm not really holding my breath on that. Smiley: wink

Yell at student finance company.
Pay a visit to the girlfriend's sister.
Stay at my cousin's house and meet his new girlfriend.
Probably consume more than the recommended weekly dose of alcohol.

Fun fun.

In the first 10 years of our marriage, Ray was in the Navy and for those 10 years, he had 6.5 years of sea duty and 3.5 years of shore duty. The longest we've gone without seeing each other is 6 months because of Ray's deployments. But for about 4 years, he would be home for a month and then gone for 3-6 months. And when he's deployed, you could email but you could go for weeks without getting email because of security reasons. Now there's Skype, satellite phones. It is rather easy for military members to stay in contact with family now than 12 years ago.

Now, my mom and my dad went for 27 months without seeing each other when he got stationed overseas. She stayed in San Diego with my brother and I while my dad had to take orders elsewhere. She called me a wuss when I cried when Ray was gone for 6 months. "Pffttt, I went for 8 months before I could get a letter from your father. You're spoiled."

LOL, I was married before and my husband was a Marine. He was usually home for a week, then gone for 2, home for a couple of weeks, gone for a month. I actually enjoyed the times he was away ... come to think of it, we divorced shortly after he got out! Wonder why that was Smiley: wink!

Oh yeah, to answer Thumbelyna's OP, I am spending the weekend with my BF and son. We will probably play outside in the pool some, but for the most part, hide inside in the AC! GA is way too hot for my liking!!

I'm not terribly excited, mostly due to the recent attacks in Mumbai, and the threats that have been issued for the Indian Independence Day (Monday the 15th).

Food should be good, though.

Framing my basement. Tore out all of the built in shelving that was bolted into the cement last weekend. So framing and hopefully wiring this weekend.

May all my walls be square.

Mow the lawn and find someone who has some weed to sell. There would appear to be a drought. Then I'll be going to church, ironically.

I'm just going to the church to try to pick up girls. Smiley: glasses

I've yet to figure which denomination would be most favorable to my plans. Probably Catholic or Muslim.
