So, as I was watching EVO 2011 this weekend, I thought about how cool it would be to be a professional gamer. Then, I thought to myself, I'm not sure if I want my job and my hobby to be one in the same. As soon as you start mandating stuff and requiring me to do something a certain way and by a certain time, the fun factor reduces.

In saying that, my dream job would still be something I obviously enjoy, but I would still want a hobby that I can do on the side to take my mind off of work..After that realization, I'm unsure on what my dream job would be....

What say ye?

My dream job would be being Tony Stark. 616 Tony Stark to be specific.

Ninjas would come in, and I'd fuck 'em. And make more ninjas.

I have no idea what my dream job would be.

My full-time job is not satisfying and frequently boring; but it has great benefits, decent pay, I love the location, and I can be on the computer all day. So more pluses than minuses.

My ZAM job I would prefer as full-time, but I have definitely run into Alma's comment about hobbies becoming work. A few games I've had to review have just been terrible... I had to force myself to give them a good chance. Other times, the games are a ton of fun, and I really enjoy them (Rift, Glitch, Rusty Hearts, for example). And the traveling, while infrequent, has been amazing.

Still, so far as satisfying and interesting goes, ZAM beats UF any day Smiley: grin

My daughter's hobby - photography, is now her career. Most recently she refused to be family photographer at a get together.

Since my sense of adventure has lagged a bit with age, I might enjoy some kind of gardening work.

I've liked my job ok for the most part. I did field work, environmental clean-up, for lots of years. I took a desk job (for the money) and now it sucks. The upside of course is it provides the opportunity to post gregariously on goofy forums.

....nightmares of multitudes of ninja-jophs will beset us all.

I've always wanted to own a bookstore. Unfortunately, that's not a very sustainable business. Smiley: frown

ETA: That's also very boring. If I could have any job in the entire world, I'd work with animals in some capacity. I considered very briefly going to the University of Miami and doing their marine biology program. Then I remembered that 1 - out of state tuition is ridiculous, and 2 - I suck at science. But working with any animal would be awesome. I recently have been looking for jobs at zoos and stuff. I can't work directly with animals, but I can help people who do.

^^ This, totally this!! My dream job would be to be independently wealthy, so I could own different business of my liking and hire people to run them for me. I would dabble in real estate so I could remodel homes and design them; restaurants so I could make menus and learn how to cook more exotic foods; craft stores; and so much more. This way you would never get bored. Each week you could check in on your different businesses and get a taste of something you like, without the agony of working to live!!

On that note, I really do love my job. The hours are flexible, I work M-F, I get excellent benefits, I make decent money, and my boss is pretty kick ***!
