Holy crap.

Southern California has avoided this heat wave. But I'm sure we'll get our wave in a few weeks.

I get to spend the entire work day tomorrow on a rooftop construction site in 100° heat. It's gonna be awesome Smiley: thumbsup

I feel bad for the contractors that'll be working there. Hopefully they'll be let off early.

There's a road crew laying asphalt outside the office. I can't imagine more fun than working on hot asphalt on a 100 degree day.

Obviously the liberal main stream media has unpaid interns on their corporate headquarters' roofs emptying canister after canister of hairspray to create global warming to make it true.

It's about 105 degrees on the shop floor today, and about 80% humidity. It's been riding about 100 degrees in the shop all week long. Luckily I get to spend half my day in the front offices working on some CAD drawings and programs. But I still need to go out to the floor to program machines and troubleshoot. It's gotta be 10 degrees warmer up in the ceiling, and I have to go up there occasionally. Last time I went up to replace a lighting fixture, got about half way up, just standing on the scissor lift, and was already drenched in sweat.

Walking in and out of the 72 degree office and 105 degree shop floor is a shock every time.

I looked at the temperature graph for our fan controls this morning, and the shop didn't drop below 95 all night. Apparently it was 82 degrees outside all last night, and there wasn't any cool air to blow into the shop so it was still 90+ in the morning when I came in.

I don't even want to say what the temperature here is in San Diego because 1) it'll jinx me; and 2) I'm afraid of a =4 lynch mob coming to get me.

Today it is only 90, but since Sunday it has been 98-99 degrees, with 110-115 degree heat index. It might even rain this evening. The break is wonderful. Next week we're back to the high 90s though.

Because 100 sounds like a better descriptor for "too fucking hot" than 37 or whatever it works out to.

Feels like 107 in New Jersey. Hence why I'm not out looking for a job.

While the temp only slightly tipped over 100 here, the air conditioning at work decided today would be a great day not to function properly. Usually, it's a pleasantly frigid 65, today my balls were stuck to the side of my leg all day. I was not pleased.

In the UK, the older generation still use Fahrenheit for when it's hot and Celsius for when it's cold, so they can say "It's in the 90s" or "it's below 0". Fickle bastards.

lol, that's awesome. Farenheit is really the only thing I prefer the English system for. It's just way more useful when talking about weather temps, since it's easier to understand a whole number over decimals.

Celsius is the metric system. The English system is feet, Fahrenheit, pounds, and all that. Get your standards of measurement right :P

I make furniture as a distraction, and I can't stand metric drawings. I don't even like decimals inches. I need my fraction notations.

That's what we call the imperial system; the English system isn't really an established name, but if it refers to anything it's the system we actually use in England.
