It's cute you think that's what is going on. Again, your much vaunted method of coming to positions based purely on research and facts at work.

My position is that our current economic problems were not caused by the Bush tax cuts or the costs of the two wars. That position is correct. You, on the other hand, want to argue about something you can't even define well and about which I don't really care.

Just because you refuse to admit you're wrong doesn't mean my point isn't well defined. I mean, its either that or you're just too dumb to figure it out. I'd like to think that isn't the case and its just your ego that refuses to concede the point.

And I still agree it wasn't the cause. Not my fault you think that it not being the cause means there is no fault at all.

Wrong about what? That the Bush tax cuts and the costs for the wars didn't cause our current economic problems? How many times do I have to repeat the same exact point before you address that point and not some other point you've imagined inside your own head?

I'm right about that, aren't I? End of discussion.

Yes, it's the only argument you need. Like I'm going to be surprised you'd fall back on that tried and false tactic.

Lol! I'm falling back on making a point, supporting the point, and being correct? WTF?

I see Gbaji still doesn't understand the difference between something not being the total cause of something, and something not having any effect on something. Not surprising really.

I do understand that difference. Do you understand that the prevailing argument from the left right now isn't that the wars and tax cuts were just a small part and "had an effect", but are arguing that they're the primary cause?

Quote:

And as before, the lion's share of the problem comes from ongoing George W. Bush-era policies -- particularly deficit-financed tax cuts, which eliminated Clinton-era surpluses and left the Treasury poised for a huge hit when the financial crisis and economic downturn further eroded federal revenues.

By the end of the decade, CBPP projects that, on the current trajectory, the Bush tax cuts, exacerbated by the economic downturn, combined with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan will account for the significant majority of public debt as a share of GDP.

This is the sort of BS being repeated over and over by pundits and politicians on the left. It's false. You see that it's false, right?

Has defense spending gone up since 2007? Sure. Does that increase represent more than a tiny portion of the deficit increase? No. Same deal with tax cuts.

You'd have a point if all the left was saying was that those things were small parts of the problem. But they aren't, are they?

That's the "condensed" version for those of you not paying attention.

Ooh! Can you do *all* of gbaji's pots like that?

That would mean I'd have to actually read all of his post, and I don't have that kind of stamina. Smiley: frown

Not really, you could just create a template and change the name of the other person in the post.

If it is, it's one of which gaxe is the sole purveyor here.

I'm okay with it, though I think that "SHAWN" should always be replaced with the relevant poster's name.

PS: I suspect that you don't actually need to watch that film.

Well, it has to start somewhere. And sure, switching out the name should be okay. Must be in caps, though.

The immediate rise in gold prices has been due to fears of a government default. Which is being brought on entirely by GOP obstructionism.

I think a SEC investigation into how much gold these obstructionist GOP members are carrying in their portfolio is in order. I smell insider trading Smiley: smile
