That analogy doesn't make any sense here.
It's more like saying you stayed in your nice house on the hill while the next block burned down, looted their houses and then dragged the people out after half had died.

America is the best. Start in North America, and you only have to defend three spots. Extend to South America, and you still only have to defend three spots. Extend into Africa, and IIRC, it ends out increasing to 5, but by then you've got half the damn world and you've pretty much won.
