http://washingtonexaminer.com/politics/2011/06/union-curbs-rescue-wisconsin-school-district

Quote:
"This is a disaster," said Mark Miller, the Wisconsin Senate Democratic leader, in February after Republican Gov. Scott Walker proposed a budget bill that would curtail the collective bargaining powers of some public employees. Miller predicted catastrophe if the bill were to become law -- a charge repeated thousands of times by his fellow Democrats, union officials, and protesters in the streets.
Now the bill is law, and we have some very early evidence of how it is working. And for one beleaguered Wisconsin school district, it's a godsend, not a disaster.

Unions are not good for american business. Companies run from them like the plague. Unfortunately el presidente barry is in bed with the them, and he's not the one doing the f*cking.

I prefer being employeed to the alternative. Businesses are only in business to turn a profit.

Yet it's quite possible to turn a substantial profit while treating your employees fairly.

Well, except for the half dozen tax breaks given to small businesses by Obama. I'm sure you're just desperate for some man-on-man action. It's ok, just be yourself.

Unions have really done wonders for the US auto industry. Without Democrats sacrificing the economy to save their union buddies b*tts the US auto industry would have completely collapsed years ago.

You want to see the effects a union has on the "human rights" of the people of a local communit visit detroit.

Those companies struggled because their outdated products and business practices. You don't deserve tax breaks simply by running a business. Stop whinging and carry your weight, you welfare ******.

Just curious, but since when do public schools turn a profit? Oh... right, they don't. Huh. Man, those teachers' unions really must be killing the corporations Smiley: rolleyes

Hey, at least they get to pay more for lower quality health plans now. By the way, it appears that the washington examiner somehow missed all of the teachers and aides that were laid off in Milwaukee over Walker's bill.

Obviously they should cut out the teachers entirely and just have kids watch Khan Academy videos then have minimum wage high school dropouts administer tests on the material.

Because in education, it's all about saving the district money amiright?

I love how you do this. It's so artful. Demanding evidence yet providing none of your own. Excellent work.

Polls are leaning pretty heavily against the state GOP for the recall elections and Walker's approvals have tanked. When your best story is a district with 4,200 kids and 400 employees benefiting, you ride that pony as hard as you can.

Prove it.
About a third of the stimulus was tax cuts, and there were several different forms of additional tax cuts added by the Dems and Obama to allow the Bush tax cuts on top wage earners to continue. What's funny about this is your implicit assumption that you could be proven something that didn't already fit into your imaginary world view.

Those companies (the auto industry in this case) have outdated products and business practices because the unions do everything they can to prevent change in the workplace. One leads to the other.

Er? Which is it?
Maximizing profits at all costs != profiting while still taking care of your people

That attempt to undermine his argument was just sad, -10 points
