(CNN) -- Authorities say the body of a woman who died in a Massachusetts public pool went undetected for days as swimmers continued to use the pool before the victim was found floating.

The pool -- which is 12 feet deep at its deepest --- was described as "cloudy" by a health inspector who examined the pool Tuesday, according to the mayor of Fall River, William Flanagan.

SICK. Another reason for me to loathe public pools.

Wouldn't you ask questions when you were one of the last to leave or first to arrive each day?

I read the first line and thought to myself "I bet it's Fall River, MA."

Yup Smiley: lol Fall River is... how do I say this with political correctness... the most "ghetto" area in MA. It's not a place most people would choose to live in willingly.

If it were the Hudson, she would have been considered a flotation device.

I threw up in my mouth a bit when I read the story this morning. What's astounding to me is that none of her friends or family thought anything was out of the ordinary for her to be missing for 2 days before she was found. And for the pool workers to not try to figure out what was causing the cloudiness in the water for 2 days.

How in the hell did no one notice a dead body O_o

The water was cloudy since the pool opened, had been inspected WHILE the body was in the pool, & a boy had told someone of authority @ the pool that the lady hadn't resurfaced after colliding with him.

Poor lady, even her memorial balloons can't float. Smiley: frown

I don't know. Fall River is bad, but New Bedford is even crappier, if that's possible.

...in fact, most of Bristol county just sucks.

Sneak in at night, or dive and hit your head in murky deep end probably.
