She'd have looked much less stupid if her opponents hadn't overreacted either. But then, that's by design and to their benefit, so I can't really blame them. It's just another example of taking words out of context to make someone you oppose look foolish. The benefit the Left has is a media largely more than willing to repeat those things and make them into something bigger than they are.
