Is ours again! Almost makes up for blowing a 3 goal lead in game 7 after being up 3 games to none last year.

Almost...

Great series & my Boston bias aside: The Bruins were the better team in this series losing 3 very close games away & winning 3 lopsided victories at home. And while victory parades seem to happen around this city on a fairly regular basis over the last 10 years, I look forward to my first Hockey parade on Friday.

Now just to convince my guests in the Hotel this evening that there really isn't anything I can do about the shenanigans going on outside other than provide ear plugs...

I thought the Bruins got out played in every game in Vancouver except for game 7. Thomas was the only reason those games weren't lopsided. It's 2004 all over again.

The Bs only got decidedly outplayed in game 2. They had nothing for a concerted 3rd period attack, and withered losing the lead. In game 1 they played with Vancouver step for step and in game 5 they did much the same. Thomas definitely game them a chance to win every game, and had the bounces gone the other way it could have been a 4 game Boston sweep. The real show of Vancouver's mettle (and Bobby Luongo's) was the deplorable showing in Boston. Outscored 17-3, outplayed at every turn and no ability what so ever to assert their will in any way, shape or form.

In the end the better team won, and as much as I hate everything Boston or Boston related, adjacent or remotely associated, I was happier than a pig in sh:t to see the looks on the faces of the Canucks as they realized they didn't have what it took to win. The only way the series could have ended better was if game 7 had been in Boston and the flight home had crashed in the Rockies.

Who knew there were that many black hockey fans in Canada?

I have no love for Boston sports teams, but it sure was nice to see the look on Luongo's face after the final horn sounded.

The only person on that entire team I had any non-negative emotion for was Kessler.

I never said decidedly, simply outplayed. Before this series started, I thought the Bruins were dead, no matter how much I hoped otherwise. After game 1 though, I thought they stood a shot.

After game 6 I though Vancouver had the best chance since game 7 was going to be at home and all the wins thus far had come at home. I think that goal in the first period made it much more difficult for Vancouver. Tim Thomas was absolutely outstanding though.

Boston actually beat Vancouver at home in the regular season. I honestly thought game 7 was theirs for the taking despite the home success to date in the series.

Like I said earlier, I thought the Bruins were done before the series started, but with each game, I felt more and more that it was theirs. I was surprised when they lost in game 5.

The first goal was the nail in the coffin for the Canucks.

I wanted Vancouver to win because the cup would've come to a Canadian team, but every other part of me wanted Boston to win.

I get a double win out of this. I'm a Bruins fan and now the cup comes to my city because of Marchand. Twice in 3 years!

The cup will spend a lot of time in Canada just because of all the Canadians on the Boston team. More then on Vancouver.

Assuming they take it to Canada I suppose.

Stay classy, Vancouver!

(CNN) -- Vancouver Police Chief Jim Chu is blaming "criminals and anarchists" who, he said, disguised themselves as Canucks fans for riots after the team lost the NHL's Stanley Cup finals.

Game 5 was amazing. After that, the Canucks seemed to get all 'Capital-ly'. 'Dumping it in' is not the fresh tactic that a few teams seem to think it is. Especially when you're the man up on a power play.

Thomas did great, except in game 7.... The sad thing is, in game 7 he didn't have to be great..just 'par'. The Canucks offense during game 7 was laughable.

Pictures!

So, watched the parade yesterday from Govt. center. There were a lot of people there.

I've got more, might upload em', might not. But all in all it was a good time. And for once, after getting out of work at 7:30am it was socially acceptable for me to immediately start drinking, gorge myself at some food trucks after the parade, & then head to bed and be fine for work that evening.
