Tim Pawlenty Shaves Off Every Hair On His Body In Really Weird Campaign Gaffe
JUNE 14, 2011 |

DES MOINES, IA—In what political insiders are calling one of the weirdest campaign gaffes in history, Republican presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty shaved every single hair off his body this weekend while campaigning in Iowa.

Why do you think he did this?

Without doing any further digging, I'm guessing he didn't do this. You're reading the Onion.

I could be wrong of course, but I don't really feel like researching.

I'm not getting the satire on this one...are they referencing something? Or did the Onion just suddenly discover photoshop?

He thought he might lose by a hair?
He thought bald-faced liar was a suggestion?
His campaign manager told him things could get hairy?

I love The onion. I have their daily calendar for this year on my desk at work and I saw one of the best pictures I have seen in the 15 years I've been reading it (keep in mind it started in the city I was born, raised, and currently still live and has been free the entire time in paper format).

If you haven't already, I highly recommend picking up a few of their books, they can be pretty cheap secondhand. Our Dumb World in particular is good for hours of laughs.

He's not one of the affair politicians. Sounds like Weiner has collapsed to the pressures of the his associate law-makers. I was really hoping he'd keep his seat.

I don't read The Onion much, but I get a kick out of Baritunde Thurston when he's on TWiT.

60-70% of politicians* have/has/will have an extramarital affair. Note that this is not significantly more, statistically speaking, than the percentage of the general population* who have/has/will have an extramarital affair.

Wiener didn't even have a real affair (as far as we can tell), he's mostly just guilty of posting pics, and having really crappy damage control.

*Edit: forgot to make the obvious caveat that this is only considers the subset of people who are married.
