Nads,

Just a bunch of retired yankees. So yeah.

That's only 6 months of the year. How do you explain the other 6?

No, they moved there. They're ALWAYS there.
If they're dumb enough to do that, they belong there.

Ugly,

Minus houston and south dallas; and parts of el-paso tx is fine.

Big fan of austin, san-antonio, most of the valley, corpus, and parts of dallas.

and yes if you've ever been to memphis you wouldn't be sticking up for it.

As for south florida it's pretty much one giant thug sewer. But yeah they are pretty good at sports.
I've been to TN and wouldn't stick up for any of it.

Depends on the parts of it. Even regions can vary wildly. Ocala, where my parents live, is likely about 1/3 retirees, 1/3 minorities (mostly Hispanics, but a hefty amount of blacks too), and 1/3 red-necks. Gainesville, where I am, is probably about 60% college students when school is in, and 60% red-necks when it's out.

I lived in TN for the better part of a decade and I wouldn't, either.

Good thing it wasn't the worse part of a decade; then you'd REALLY hate it. I'm with the non-defenders, though. This place is awful in almost every respect.

Well, there's the lack of a property tax (which really kind of screwed me up when I moved and hard to start keeping up with it), but you can see where that money might really be put to good use.

Perhaps where you were. I pay property taxes. Most places here do, I think.

There are parts of Houston that aren't so bad.

Have to agree with varus that Austin is pretty awesome though.

Yep, the south is full of trailer trash welfare queens. Funnily enough, most of the ones I've met are white.

Really? I thought that was state-wide. Come to think of it, didn't you say you work in Nashville? I lived in that region.

I work in Nashville, but I don't live here. However, a lot of our clients do, and I assure you, their property is taxed. Spring Hill doesn't have a property tax, or it didn't for a long time, but I believe they are instituting one now.

I couldn't say comprehensively, but I believe property taxes are typically county/municipally controlled.

EDIT: Spell check doesn't fix correctly spelled wrong words.

Similar here. I would assume it's pretty much universal in NA.

I can almost guarantee you I'd soften on you. Actually, well before I was on you, but I don't want to be rude.
