A ton of doctorate students are on federally subsidized loans. You really do go out of your way to be wrong at every possible moment, don't you?

The South's rancid, disease-infested swampland also killed more Northerners.

There's not a chance in h*ll this would have happened in the south.

As if the Red Sox would have helped.

Pretty sure they had a girl in Austin that found the front of a train about 5 years back. She was a valedictorian of her class to top it off.

That's just Louisiana. And NO ONE knows what's going on down there.

I beg to differ; the fetid landscape along the border of Virgina and North Carolina, along I-95, is the worst-smelling place I've ever encountered, and that includes New Jersey.

I've yet to smell a city worse than Gary, IN from the highway that goes by it.

I think Augusta, GA, at that one special spot where the dog food plant, proctor and gamble, federal paperboard, and the sewage treatment plant all intersect, could give it a run for it's money.

Well at least we killed more yankees.

Quote:
At least 618,000 Americans died in the Civil War, and some experts say the toll reached 700,000. The number that is most often quoted is 620,000. At any rate, these casualties exceed the nation's loss in all its other wars, from the Revolution through Vietnam.
The Union armies had from 2,500,000 to 2,750,000 men. Their losses, by the best estimates:

Battle deaths: 110,070
Disease, etc.: 250,152
Total 360,222
The Confederate strength, known less accurately because of missing records, was from 750,000 to 1,250,000. Its estimated losses:

Battle deaths: 94,000
Disease, etc.: 164,000
Total 258,000

What this says to me, is that lack of good medicine killed about 2 soldiers for every one that died in battle. So congrats, microscopic bugs killed at a much better ratio than souther soldiers?

It's been pretty rigorously concluded by historians that if either side had hurled ***** at the other instead of firing bullets, they would have decisively won the war.

First off, the woman's looks wouldn't factor into it at all. If I thought I could pull it off without getting myself killed in the process, I would try, but if it's pretty hopeless, I'm not sacrificing myself.

It's actually pretty ****** up that you're turning a terrible accident like this into a political speaking point. What the **** is wrong with you?

It's all about how naive you are when you reply to him. It's amazing that you can appear shocked by him at this point.

The only positive thing I can say about MARTA is that since most of the stations are above ground, we don't have to deal with anything worse than the 100F+ noon temperatures, and there's always shade, a water fountain, and a cool breeze to make it bearable.

The underground stations, all 2-3 of them, are all properly air conditioned too.

Stock is up this year. They just opened a store in Penn Station that's been seeing a steady influx of trundling, Rascal-driving fatties as well.
