I was amused all weekend watching and listening to our politicians (on both side of the aisle) take the time out of their busy, busy law-making lives to get all dolled up for moments with various media outlets telling the good peoples of our country that Weiner has to go because he's a distraction.

...if i were an oscar meyer weiner, everyone would be in luv with me.

Happened sooner than I would have guessed at this point. I suppose the rumblings about him losing his sole committee assignment were the final straw.

Sure, but you can finish out the term if you're being redistricted into nothing. Losing your committee assignments makes you immediately irrelevant, especially in the minority party.

He was fairly irrelevant before Weinergate anyway.

He was making a lot of noise and delivering firebrand speeches on the House floor, but yeah, if he lost his committee assignment, he'd be completely powerless and ineffective.

If someone ever saw the txts between me and my husband, they'd be disappointed. "Can you pick up some oranges?" "Going to the gym before meeting." "Oooh look, Groupon for La Fiesta, snag it!"

Naughty words are reserved for whispers of sweet nothings in each other's ears.
