We're making great strides, actually. We just need to cut this I.P.A. **** out. Seriously, it's not good.

The beer or the windmills?

Germany's plan was to use nuclear power for thirty years to hold them over. If they can meet their energy needs with out it - kudos to them.

The lack of accidents is a stupid reason to keep using a source of power if you have better.

Beer > Windmills. It's really a question of quality of life.

Better how? Safer? I'd think "zero accidents" is pretty good.

Oh, I'm sure one of the drones from Sector 7-G has spilled coffee on himself, or tipped over in a chair.

Energy efficiency is rarely measured in accidents to produce said power.

Easy to make, easy to store, easy to use, easy to clean up after.

Nuclear power requires mining, but more of an issue is disposal of radioactive waste. Still, no one really knows what to do with it. Uranium is a finite resource. Personally I like nuclear better than fossil fuels, but solar wind, geothermal, even fuel cells would be preferable over nuclear energy. Like I said, Germany was going to phase out nuclear in 30 years anyways. Why not try and start phasing it out now instead of wasting more effort on maintaining and/or upgrading facilities and infrastructure?

Nuclear plants have the advantage of taking up a far, far smaller footprint per Mw generated than wind or solar farms.

Silly rabbit, didn't you know that EA owns the entire game development industry now?

Or at least it certainly seems like it.

Yeah, it's kinda sad. They're turning into the AT&T of gaming, which sucks because they have really crappy DRM policy that annoys legitimate users but doesn't really do anything to stop pirating. And what happened to Demos?

This reminded me of the good old days playing Sim City; the Boston nuclear meltdown map always got me singing Aerosmith's "Living on the Edge".

True. Germany will never find itself in the same situation as Japan, though. No plate boundaries in northern Europe to cause an Earthquake.

That diagram includes that massive US zone which was proven to be incorrect, and it's also 2 months old. Right now the exclusion zone is the larger red circle at 20km.

As of June 1, 2011. That city in the west side of blue zone, ********* City, at the highest levels has 3x (1.37 μSv) the average hourly dosage (0.416 μSv) in the east part of the city at Oyamacho (御山町). At the lowest levels is lower (0.40) than the average in the southwest part of the city at Arai (荒井). Tokyo is currently at pre-disaster levels. (Information is located [link=http://bousai.city.**********************************************************************************************************

The situation right now is under caution as the Typhoon season will arrive soon. Current plans are to erect covers around the plant in mid-June. However, Typhoons rarely hit the disaster-affected region of Tohoku and those that do, do little damage.

Current predictions put it at least 2 years before residents can start to return to areas within the exclusion zone.

I've had some f'ucking good Belgian beer, and some f'ucking good German beer. None of it was head and shoulders above what I drink on a daily basis here in the states. Those of us who don't allow mass produced **** water from Coors & Bud to touch our lips don't have to get on a plane to get f'ucking good beer.

I never said you had to, the US has some great beers but the micro brews are very hard to get here.
There are excellent German beers as well but there's very little that can beat the good, strong Belgian beers. Those Belgian monks know how to make an awesome beer.

I never said you said you had to. But then, you never said I said you said you had to. Conversely, I never said you said I said you said you had to.

Duvel was good, but I rather liked the De Koninck, especially with a fresh bacon, apple and cheese pancake.

Go find some Mad Hatter (the bitter, not the IPA) and tell me that isn't the Magical Elixir of the Almighty.
