I'm all for dating poor people (dating rich people feels weird, to me), but I don't think the argument is whether rich people are better looking, it's whether they are more viable partners for most. I'm trying not to believe that the main factor for finding a viable partner are looks.

We're talking Americans here (I think). If any of those hot Filipino lasses settle down in the States they immediately gain 40 lbs and a skin condition.

I consider money as merely *A* factor, not a determining factor. Being poor doesn't define motivation or the will to do better. As long as you're bringing something to the table, then you're fine by my book. I fully support Domestic Engineers. I also would take a poor person with little to no debt than a person with money and a lot of debt.

Unrelated: My husband and I are getting some preliminary quotes on life insurance. Even after answering "no" to the question of whether we had kids or not, and after I told the agent a few times that I was on my lunch break, he still asked me, "So, are you working outside the home at all...?"

And when I met with him before by myself, when I tried to explain to him that I wanted to get myself covered so that if I passed away, my husband wouldn't be forced out of our home because I sort of make the most money here, he still insisted that a policy on me wasn't as important, because he was sure that my husband, if he were there, "would say that he would live in a cardboard box if he had to, but he wanted to make sure I was set."

I'm more than a little tired of the "Good ol' Boy" mentality around our town.

Yes.. I heard that a few years ago and thought it was pretty funny. Maybe it's because I'm lazy and hate cleaning, but maintaining a house is a lot of work, especially if you're caring for multiple children. I would much rather do a 9 to 5.

Goes without saying the rest of the whole study is a complete load of crap scientifically, there is a reason it only got published in some no name pseudo-journal site instead of something reputable. (not to say that respectable journals don't also publish sensationalist ******** occasionally as well, but they usually stop well short of "how to know if someone likes you" tabloid crap that this "journal" has)

At that point, they are probably not as "poor" as they were in their native country. It's a little bit more difficult for Non-Mexicans to come to the U.S. Chances are they are someone's wife or a college student. This is due to the Visa requirements, which are biased against poor countries for that very reason of illegal immigration.

I'm finding that very hard to believe and if you really thought about it, you would too. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong and your country is even more fucked up than I thought. Even if 90% of the people are like that, you can't tell me that walking into 10 insurance offices so you find that 1 in 10 person is a "hell of a time".
