I have no issue being a commonwealth country. Canada takes much pride in it. You will find that most of us just don't want to be associated with the United ***holes of America. I think you'll find that less prevalent with Bush gone though.
I'd bet we'd be popular if we got rid of 80% of the population from the southern half of our country.

What absolute drivel. Waiting a year to see an Oncologist or receive chemotherapy or radiation therapy? Laughable. Waiting a year for elective surgeries, probably. Seeing as elective surgeries aren't really essential, they take a back seat.

You're suggesting someone's hip replacement should take precedent over a life saving operation just because they were in line first?

edit: Also, because everyone is guaranteed treatment, our system is still superior to yours. Yes.

Maybe where you are, but up here it's possible, but extremely unlikely.

If having health insurance companies compete for business is a good thing, why does health insurance go up every year? No one has ever explained that.

Why did your homeowners rates go up last year? Could it be that nashville spent most of the year underwater which caused excessive loses that the company has to recoup. I know this may come as a shock to you but loss ratios do matter in the insurance world.

Is the cost to build a house more today or 20yrs ago?

What does homeowners insurance have to do with health insurance? Also, when did I move back to Nashville?

I honestly don't know. I think what I consider elective is different from most people.

I mean, I've had what some people would consider elective surgeries on my hands and feet to fix defects. I personally wouldn't consider them to be elective in the same way, say, breast augmentation is.

I've had elective surgery in the UK without being a resident with a 2 hour wait. It was elective.

As for radiation treatment, my mother receives about four rounds a year and she doesn't even have cancer. This is on state health care.

A problem I've seen in the UK is that in rural areas, you won't have specialists and the NHS insists on seeing one for very specialist problems, so you might have to take a trip to London. I've had the same in Germany and (gasp!) in the US. Actually, I think I waited something like 4 hours to get a vaccination I didn't even need in the US because they couldn't comprehend my vaccination pass because it was not from a Western nation. So they just gave me another round of vaccine, on my private health insurance, because they were bloody stupid. Great medical care, yeah.

How much business do you think that health care providers would get if they consistently failed to pay for the health care needs of their customers?
They've been doing remarkably well the last few years. So... a lot?

Nilatai wrote:
Gabaji, why don't you get you can still pay for your superior service?
But that means that poor people will still be getting affordable health care, and that enrages Republicans to no end.

Well except for leaving people suffering from heart attacks to die in the back of ambulances now and again or the lengthy wait times for surgery that is.
I can make up stories too, that doesn't make them true though.

We've covered this varus. They didn't die of heart attacks while waiting in an ambulance. They died in the hospital a couple of days later. Old people dying of heart attacks pretty much happens everywhere, all the time. They also had medical staff treating them immediately on arrival.

Except I didn't make it up. That's euro-socialist healthcare for you.

Now do you have anything to back up your bs?

I'm curious do you have anything to say about the facts from the link I posted? Or is that just much for your undeveloped pea brain to comprehend?

It would be good if you actually read stories before assuming they support your uninformed babble.

It says they were treated for seven and 20 minutes respectively, before being taken inside.

It was also due to A&E being overly busy, which is the same as your ER being busy. Can't plan for that shit, moron. Oh wait, now I see what you're getting at, if some of the people already inside couldn't afford to be treated and were sent home, these two old women would have been admitted straight away, instead of having to be treated in an ambulance. It all makes sense, how could we not see how smart you are before?!

They also died the day after and three days later respectively. Sounds to me like they were old and died. Seven and twenty minutes would have made exactly shit all difference. Thanks for playing though.

Let me guess, you saw the title of the article, assumed it must mean "NHS is bad!!", then posted it?

Try reading the entire article.
