People still use CDs to listen to music?

Listening to an ipod in the car is fine, but I wouldnt want to listen to the overcompressed crap that comes out of them at home. Vinyl or CD is the only way to go.

Its sad how playback quality has been sacrificed for sheer quantity of storage.

You do know that you can put lossless audio files on iPods, right?

I'm willing to bet that you couldn't actually tell the difference between a v0 mp3 and a wav file if you didn't know which was which ahead of time, though. Enjoy your gold speaker cables!

I still use and buy CD's, I'd use LP's instead but I currently don't have a way of playing them. I like the booklets, the art, random bonus DVD's I likely wouldn't have had if I downloaded the album and it's more of an experience or something if I put a Cd in the stereo, makes me listen more and enjoy the music more than just clicking play on my PC.

I need to check the needle on Jonwin's turntable, now that I have my father's LP collection to listen to. I wish I had been able to get his turntable and stereo too, but everything had to be divided six ways and the teak entertainment center from Scan to hold the albums is a fair trade off.

I will most likely upgrade to a better turntable amp and receiver when I can, which should be about the same time I get the entertainment center. I'll need a turntable that can handle 78's, though they may already have been copied onto cd's.

Anyone interested in buying a large row house in walking distance to JHU and the BMA as well as a B&N parks and great food. IT would be nice if a friend brought the house, so I could still visit and tell them all the stories of how we remodel the house from a slum lord rental to, what is now one of, if not the nicest home on the block. The place shows like a home from Architectural Digest. Though I think they should have left in my great grandmother's chest which she carve the front panel door in a lovely flora pattern.

The thing I remember most about records is how my favorites always ended up warped somehow.

Good times...

They should be stored either standing up strait or laid down on flat surface, and away from heat. Give them a little room to lean to the side and they will start to warp. And Always use the turntable lever to raise and lower the needle.

Children of Audiophiles learn early how to care for records or they aren't allow near the HiFi.

I was the always the 1st child allow near his computers and test equipment it seem growing up.
