How much will you pay for a cup of coffee?Follow
I don't drink the stuff, so I'm not too terribly worried about how much it costs. I prefer energy drinks to get my stimulant fix, and I only ever drink those if I've had less than four hours sleep a night for two days in a row.
It's getting close to $2.50 for a medium coffee from the Second Cup near work which has got me thinking about filling up the Thermos from home.

I never buy coffee by the cup anywhere, unless I'm with friends and we stop at StarBucks or maybe in a diner getting breakfast or something. I drink the free coffee at work. The hall coffee is ok, and recently they installed these new Yum Yum Donuts coffee machines in the break rooms that is quite good (and still free!). At home, I brew my own. Works for me, and in the grand scheme of things, the price of a cup of coffee just isn't that high on my list of things to worry about.

Wifey bought me one of these for Christmas. Thats where 90% of my coffee comes from. The beans I get from a coffee bean specialist place who delivers.
I wont even go into McD's or Starbucks to use their toilets anymore.

I usually brew my own and use a travel mug that currently has a picture of my son on it. My wife gets me photo mugs every Father's Day. If not, I'll go to any old place and get a cup of filtered mud water. I've broken down and actually gotten Starbucks lately, but the issue I have with them is more the disgustingly strong taste than the obnoxiously high price.
If all the buzz is true, then I forsee Peak Coffee being a greater catastrophe for humankind in general than Peak Oil.

A few places I've worked at had free coffee, the idea being that it was cheaper for the company to privide it for free than to have people ******* around making their own or going out to get one, a time saver.

At my last job, we were not allowed to make coffee because the manager thought we wasted too much time ******* around the coffee maker. So we went and hung out at the Stewart's getting coffee instead.

If my uni had free coffee I would probably be dead, I drink 3-5 large coffees when I am there which cost me about £5 a day.
If it was free I would be drinking about 100 :|

Folgers for free at work. If I brew at home, it's also Folgers, for about $0.10 a cup I'm guessing?
I'm a coffee addict, so I will definitely pay that. Hell, I'm paying $1.89 for a large at Au Bon Pain every morning as it is. If there was a Starbucks closer, which I prefer, I'd be paying over $2. If there was a good local beanery, I'd potentially pay even more than that (but there isn't even a crappy one. :/)
Of course, I prefer my coffee brewed at home (I like it strong, and use a French Press). The only reason I don't right now is that it is too much of a hassle in a dorm. But I'll have an apartment next semester, so...
Either way, I'm a little snobbish when it comes to my coffee. I bought a $14 bag of coffee beens over the summer (and never once regretted it). My wallet couldn't support that regularly, but holy **** it was good.
However, if I was drinking it purely as a stimulant, like my parents do, I'd feel very differently.
