You can take it however you like. The fact is that the oversight you and your ilk clamor for is a recent construct. People have relied on farmers/food producers for centuries. Profit was, is, and will be the motivator for quality products.

And as to you thinking I'm full of sh:t, I can't imagine why. There's no reason
not to grind your own beef. It takes mere minutes to grind out a pound of beef for burgers that tastes better and is healthier than what I would get at the grocery store. There's also no reason not to make your own pasta, even if you don't have a roller. It all goes back to laziness and people's priorities being reflected in their choices.
