That's what I've been arguing this entire time. You don't need 1000 people to know how people feel about rape, but if you want to know how the majority feels about something that is so evenly split, you're going to need more than 1,000 people, especially if it's truly random.
I think the poll is showing that the supporters are growing, not so much that it's a majority.

???- The point is, as you pointed out and have been already discussed, the only way to know for sure what the majority believes is to poll a very large percentage of the population and that isn't efficient. Either that, or wait till the difference of opinion is much greater than what it is today. Given that, polls will simply not be favorable as of now.
