No ******** It is a finite commodity. What's up for discussion is when we'll run out. You don't care about when though, as you don't give a damn about future generations, so long as you get taken care of.

And profits aren't a dirty word.

1000 years at todays consumption might be a possibility. How utterly naive of you to think that we've maxed out our consumption though. 50 years ago there wasn't even a thought that we may have a limited supply.

The problem with oil is that it's getting increasingly harder to acquire and produce. Oil shale, oil tar, etc. doesn't just come gushing from the ground. The processes for refining such are much more expensive, and for the companies to keep making their profits they need to hit the consumer even harder. Sure, there may be another thousand years worth of oil in gloop and stone deposits but it'll come to us at $10/gal.

Ugly,

Do you really think the world is going to run out of oil?
Eventually, yes. In the next 50 years? No. Next 100 years? Very possible.

Wow, maybe I am a brain dead twit. You'd know better than the rest of us on how to recognize one (I assume you look in the mirror regularly)

Heading back on topic, I find it interesting that the most comprehensive (or at least the most popular) analysis of O'Keefe's video comes from Glenn Beck's website, The Blaze. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/does-raw-video-of-npr-expose-reveal-questionable-editing-tactics/

Just as a quick summary of what they say:
1. Muslim Brotherhood connections
Only reference is that some of the group's members are in observational positions and seeks to downplay any actual connection.
2. Does Ron Schiller react to “Sharia” mission statement with amusement?
Schiller's "reaction" was edited in from another part of the video.
3. How does Schiller describe Republicans?
Says offensive things but stresses they're his opinion. Also applauds Republicans for fiscal conservatism.
4. The “seriously racist” Tea Party
Does say they're racist, but the raw video shows he's actually talking about the opinions of two Republicans, one a former ambassador.
5. Are liberals more educated than conservatives?
Editted to appear more outspoken than he actually is, and his partner directly disagrees.
6. Does NPR need federal funding?
Editted out section saying that federal funding would directly impact local stations and why NPR is still interested in it.
7+8. Audio issue number one and two
Two glitches in the audio, the first seems to be a deliberate cover for some reason; the second is said to be in order to edit out a reporter's name for safety.

Long story short, Schiller wasn't very savvy in his comments but the video of him was edited to make his statements sound much worse or imply he believes much more than he actually says.

And this comes from a conservative site, no less o_O

Fair and balanced as always.

So you admit the video is heavily edited and NPR is blameless? Cool beans.

Interesting read. I wonder why no one posted it yesterday.

Oh, wait...

Regarding O'Keefe, it's a ***** when even your supporters call you out for being a scheister. And yes, it's a link to one of Glenn Beck's sites, but they're the ones calling O'Keefe out. CNN credited it to them on Reliable Sources, but I can't be ***** to find a link.
