No weekend off for me. I get one every 7 weeks on my work schedule. I do plan to do some spring cleaning and repairs around the place.

Finally getting online now - what is your toon's name?

Debalic, of course - but I'm not playing tonight.

Well, I might, for a bit.

Server just went down for maintenance for 30 mins but they usually come up faster than that. I hit lev 9 and participated in a Rift - pretty schweeet!

I'm going to go to Madison to protest. Fuck Scott Walker. I don't like taking away people's rights, and I like collective bargaining, so yeah, he's like doing something I don't like to stuff I do like, man. Then I have to work on Sunday and apparently there's going to be another blizzard, after I finally dug through the snow drift the last one left. Wisconsin, FUCK YEAH!

been trying to get my old computer to work with Jonwin's old hard drives. I can't get it to detect thhe one with all his games on it :( I'm just going to make sure that windows xp works for him and then start work on installing power supply and motherboard, hard drive, video card and other hardware and pray everything works by the end of the day.

Plus we are waiting to hear from daughter, about going over to pick up the new kitten.

Really enjoying the Rift beta - pre-ordered the CE so I'll be in the early start next Thursday. Release is March 1st.

But mostly, Rift - once you get out of the starting area, the game world is pretty awesome. Hop in the open beta to check it out! Look for Snorre or Haemish on Byriel server.

You too? My wife and I just started on the Belmont server, and I just made it out of the newbie area. It's...well...a pretty, nice-looking MMORPG. At a certain point, most of them seem interchangeable, with small variations in world stories. It does run pretty well on my low-ball system, though.

I've been enjoying RIFT as well. Love the cut scenes, the character creation, the instances and pvp. I'm also on Byriel as Mistrix and Niobia.

This weekend I am working on a research proposal -.- and just spending time with my family since my husband is home from an Afghanistan contract (not sure for how long) so I'm getting to go to the bathroom alone, read books in peace..it might not sound like much but it feels great (especially with a 2 and 1 year old)

If you need help, let me know. I'm either 18 or 19 (warden/sentinal/pure) cleric *mistrix* and also have a level 10 rogue (hunter/ranger/bard) *niobia*

I got tired of waiting for the spring time... and busted out my charcoal grill and a couple steaks. Waiting for the grill to get ready.

I was hoping it was going to be a bit warmer, currently it's about 27F, but it's sunny clear skies, and not snowing.

Thanks! I've got toons on both Belmont and Byriel - not trying to level up too fast with one toon because I'll save that for the early start. I play a ranger/bard/nightblade, a justicar/shaman/druid, a elementalist/stormcaller/chlormancer, and a champion/beastmaster/not sure yet...maybe void knight. All under level 9. What's the hunter of your hunter/ranger/bard?

Shes level 10. I'm enjoying her a bunch. I've been pushing the cleric to level just so I can see some more content. Matanza

So far by 20 there are two instances and two kinds of pvp. One is like WSG and the other is like Ab (WoW)
I purchased my second "role" so I'm gonna test out some different souls on the cleric, once servers are up.

For some reason, the cutscenes don't play well on my system. There's white flashing, stuttering, halting, etc. Everything else runs fine. But I'm about to hit "Order" on Newegg for a new video card, so hopefully that will take care of it.

The weather prognosticators are calling for a foot of snow today. Doesn't look likely at the moment, but you never can tell. Thankfully everything melted during the 4 days of 50F weather last week, so new snow will fall on bare concrete. No ice to snowblow over makes Moe a happy man.

We had 60-70 degree weather for a few days during the week. Now it's back to 20s. The situation here is either bare ground or re-frozen, smoothed over extra-hard ice.

I decided to dl and try this out before I had to pay fifty bucks for the game. It's ok. Game runs alright. My favorite 'new' thing is the heartbeat sound you get at low health. It adds some intensity. I've started a Dwarf Warrior(Guardian) and a Bahmi Mage (Defiant) on Seastone, and a Human Rogue on Belmont. Their names are respectively Pearl, Obsideon and Elinda (my pet pig is named Nobby (in memorial)). I'll probably play more through my 4 day weekend, but so far haven't been hit with an overwhelming desire to buy the game. But I've not hit any pvp yet. The souls are kinda unique. I'm thinking of changing up my mage to add some healing. I'm worried it'll take away too much damage though...we'll see.

Edit - I think this is final beta time. There is no 'key' required. I just made an account, downloaded the game and started playing. So, if anyone wants to check it out...now is the time.

Well, tomorrow 10am Pacific time - so 1pm East Coast time.

I re-made my Rogue (Bard/Ranger/Nightblade) to (Bard/Riftstalker/Saboteur) to give him better survivability. Got him up to level 13. Popping back in now for the rest of the afternoon - look up Snorre on Belmont. =)

Elinda, the real fun begin s about level 10 up until then it seems to kind of train you how to do things (crafting, gathering, attacking etc)

Snorre - Sabs seem to have great survivability and are a little op in damage =) I converted my rogue to a marksmen/ranger/sab and havent really had to worry about healing because she does intense damage.

I wish dwarfs had cooler racials...

Deb - the cut scenes are awesome. I think your first one, after the intro is when you seal the void..around levels 4-6?

I have to keep it a path shoveled through the snow to the grill as my husband doesn't take the seasons into account when menu-planning.

I got my little dwarven warrior to 11 last night. I never found much pvp excepting a few gankers that wandered over. I think I missed 'beta' on the warfront type battles that I understand will be implemented.

I could have have happily kept playing the game, but mostly just because it was all new and I had a ton of ground to explore.

Not sure yet if I'll buy it or not. If I do, it will be because just about everyone I game with is going to be playing and not necessarily because of the game itself.

Eh, I consider myself lucky that he's head chef in our house;) (it's not much 'extra' shoveling to keep the grill usable)
