I had something pompous and asinine written, and the Bob damn interwebs puked on me, so f'uck it.

Pitchers and catchers report to camp next week, boys and girls.

All of you not following the defending World Champions through this 8 month campaign to repeat can suck it.

The Sox look just good enough to manage to not make it into the playoffs, but to make us think they will. Awesome, another **** off of a season coming up.

Do you think the White Sox get offended when people call the Red Sox just 'The Sox' and yet everyone knows what team they're referring to?

Who cares? Maybe they should relocate to a more important city.

Yea, but nobody wanted to make it since it's been made thousands of times before.

Meh.

The Giants should win the NL West again. Pablo Sandoval has lost 30 pounds of fat and worked with Barry Bonds on his plate discipline so he should be back to '09 form. Full years of Madison Bumgarner and Buster Posey will help. Miguel Tejada will replace most of Juan Uribe's lost production. Aubrey Huff will regress, and Andres Torres probably will too. Brandon Belt will come up sometime around May and will be a masher. Overall, their pitching will be a little bit better and their lineup will be a little bit better.

The division will be worse. I don't see the Rockies being able to pitch and I don't see Carlos Gonzalez repeating his 204 OPS+ performance at home again. The Padres lost their only hitter and a starter. The Dodgers gained the Padres' lost starter but their lineup will probably underproduce again and Ted Lilly is a lock to regress. The Diamondbacks are the Diamondbacks.

Barring injuries, the Giants should win the division by a handful of games over the Rockies.

I'm not sure what your history is with the division, but it looks like a pretty solid assessment. Of course, I've seen a lot of teams in the N.L. West start the season projected to finish dead last win the division or become great, gaping pains in the *** come September. I'm happy for the moment entering the season as the Defending World Champions. I'll be able to dine out on that one for a while.

I have watched the regular season since 2006, but I did watch the 2002 playoffs culminating in the worst punch in the gut I have experienced to this day that was the World Series.

Yeah, some team could always pull a 2010 Padres and I'm hoping that doesn't happen.

Maybe East Coasters. It's quite the opposite here in Chicago.

I highly doubt season ending let alone career ending...malkin on the other hand....

seriously though concussions suck, my last one I felt great for the first week, then spent the next month with crippling headaches and dizziness, its a pain not knowing how long ur going to be feeling like crap, I'm glad the team is keeping him off instead of forcing him back, we dont need him to be like mark savard who just gets concussed constantly and has now had his season ended

I actually Lold, ill skip defending crosby now since I got a laugh, so what team do you watch then? I'm guessing california something since you cheer for the giants in baseball, so that leaves San Jose Anaheim and Los Angeles, Its been a while since ive been to CA but iirc Anaheim would be closest to you if in fact you are in San Fran, though LA is only what 4 hours south, so I'm not sure, either way I don't mind the California teams, even though San Jose are choke artists. At least they play real hockey as opposed to Philly or Washington

I'm a transplant to Minnesota from Napa, CA. I discovered hockey shortly before I moved out here and now am thankful to have something to watch between October and April that in no way involves football or basketball. I split season tickets to the Wild.

EDIT: Yes. It is painful to watch the Wild most nights.

Even when they win.
